Non-related to this post. But think I shall put it here rather than setup another thread. Another tank of TOTM standard.

IMO it is pointless performing a FW dip to cure ich if you do not have a separate quarantine tank. Once you put the fish back into the main tank, there will still be free floating stages of the ich parasite. You'll only end up stressing the fish more. 15 mins in FW is already considered the maximum period you should leave the fish in FW. IMO 5-10 minutes will be safer.
Did I see 2 black sea cukes? Think you should have only 1. 2 will starve in such a small tank over time... Try to cover the intake of the internal filter with some foam and rubberbands. You don't want sea cuke soup if one day the cuke decides to climb?
How long has this been happening? If it is just after the introduction of the clam it could be normal as the CS might just be picking off debri from the clam shell.
Give it more time, I would be wary if this still happens on the 2nd day. Normally dying clams will release chemicals that will attract scavengers. Something like how an injured bleeding fish will attract a shark.
I know..but common names can be confusing. Last time they were called blue sea squirt. Now blue lollipop tunicate. Of cause must make sure if different species what.
If you want coralline algae you need to have calcium and kH levels at optimum. If you are fine with a corallineless tank then by all means dump the calcium test kit and the calcium additive. But you will still need to monitor kH to prevent it from dropping below 6 (will cause pH to fluctuate more, stressing your fish and corals.)
Basic test kits you need are pH, kH, Ca, Nitrate test kits. Don't really need ammonia and nitrite test kits as long as you are patient with your cycling.
Basic additives you need are anti-chlorine, calcium, and reef builder (to increase kH).
Hai..my cocoworm just shed its crown after I got it for so many months. Been feeding regularly with bioplankton. Is it a normal phenomenon or is it stress related?
