It's a skink from Australia. But it does'nt mean I have to ship it out from Australia. Just like mexican red knee tarantulas, you can get them from U.S, Germany or even Singapore now. Anyway it's not on CITES. There are more things in Sg than you can imagine, for example : mata matas in private estate fish ponds

Amid deep depression from culturing skunk shrimp larvae..all over 80 days without any settling as yet..just growing to around 1cm and slowly dying off. But got a pleasant surprise today. My first settlement of blood shrimp at 61 days!

It's a wrasse with legs. Will be mass producing soon.

In same university now what.. I have'nt seen his tank yet..but will soon..hehe

Awesome sps..must see your tank with russel in person when I'm back.
-
Wow...2 pairs of Centropyge angels in the same tank...the tank must be..

Nice...looks like an orange supermushie.. Here's one I had..a blue one under 10,000 K T5s. Best I got it for $5. Too bad gave it away..if not can take a better pic..

Fish food..and sps polyps.

Got a few species of boxing shrimp. The smaller species (max size only around 3cm) should be able to be kept with most other shrimp.

Try using a very fine line to tie to the feelers of the mysis.

Consult a trustworthy lawyer on this issue. A good lawyer might even be able to seek compensation on your behalf due to uneccessary stress put on you by the sales person...might even be classified as harrassment. Best if you have caller I.D or even remember the dates he turned up at your doorstep. So in the end the water company might have dug their own demise. Reminds me of a past temp job during the stamp expo. I got introduced to this company who put me with a british expat businessman. I was told I would get paid directly from the businessman. And so there I was manning the stall, buying the guy coffee & lunch, even to the extent of helping him pack up to move his luggage to his hotel lobby. And I got paid like $100 a day from the generous fellow. At the end of the exhibition, I went to buy the stuff I wanted. Few days later came a call from the company wanting to take 30% of my pay and I was never even told beforehand about this arrangement...neither was such an arrangement stated in black and white. I was told I had a week to pay up, however within this one week the lady probably called me at least 4-5 times reminding me. In the end I just got fed up and ignored her calls. She never called back. Sometimes you just gotta ignore ridiculous accusations. If you are too nice people will rip you off.

Some chemicals will soak into silicon (E.g methylene blue) and be released slowly over time. Not sure if it will apply to copper but it's best to get a new tank or avoid keeping inverts in the tank.

Hmmm...sometimes seahorses can get confused if too much brine shrimp are swimming around..they won't know which one to go for. Brine shrimp and f.w shrimp won't sustain seahorses for long, best if you can wean them onto frozen mysis. Check out Chinmo's thread on weaning seahorses. Meanwhile enrich your brine shrimp with DHA Selco if you can.

Try bars? Blue star and U-turn beats the rest hands down.Good old karoake. Highly recommended for guys only ..and they don't check I.D..best

found a flea/shrimp/crab look alike creature
FuEl replied to hamannbmw's topic in General Reefkeeping_
wow..creative drawing.. Sounds like a squat lobster? Then again squat lobsters don't hop. Maybe it's a giant amphipod. -
Try the farms near Pasir ris camp. The brown photosynthetic one is much easier to keep, but the price will be slightly higher compared to non-photosynthetic ones. Worth the $ if you are not into nutrient rich tanks.

One of the benefits LTA can use to promote public transport. Or maybe even hire chicks to get onto public transport, less drivers on the roads, cleaner air for everyone.

Doubt will be able to get any skunk shrimps to settle..already at day 74 but they are staying at about 1cm plus and just not metamorphosizing. Real frustrating just seeing the largest ones die one after another. Hope I get better luck with blood shrimp, currently at 52 days old.

Best is to measure using refractometer using the units ppt. Keep around 35-36 ppt. The main problem using specific gravity is that it will fluctuate according to water temperature and the resultant density of the water. For example if you keep your reef tank at 28 degrees celcius at 1.025 it should'nt pose a problem. If you unknowingly have your reef tank at 25 degrees celcius with a s.g of 1.025 chances are that your salinity is different from the norm. Won't be a problem for your livestock in your tank, but can pose a problem to newly introduced inverts. Not to mention that swinging arm hydrometers can lose accuracy without you knowing it. Even floating hydrometers can have readings affected if coated with coralline algae, etc. I lost trust in all hydrometers after faulty hydrometers caused me to lose livestock over months without knowing why.

Try chinese temples to see if they are willing to accept. If possible don't release them into the wild. The terrapins probably won't die and if they survive they will be feasting on every single local fish/plant species. You'll be amazed if I told you I saw one swimming in boat quay. You could call AVA to check with them to see if SPCA would take them..they got to solve the problems they created . Or bite the bullet and keep them around (since my dad bought them for me), I've been doing it for 15 years with my terrapins.

Think perhaps a few dark colored seafans or maybe crinoids (probably not feasible in the tank) might help to bring out its natural behavior somewhat. Good stuff you're feeding it..even mandarins go for them.

A captive bred blood shrimp by a researcher before me. Has a "designer" pattern. Still waiting for settlement for my batch..sigh..

Think the cuke should be fine after the trigger "samples" it. They don't taste that good.

Plate corals don't reproduce by dropping their tentacles. My guess would be your maroon clowns have been nipping off the tentacles. They do that to anemones too, not suprised if they do it on plate corals.

Dark chocolate brown sps are very rare, also super healthy with maximum zooxanthellae concentration. What a buy!
