  1. Offering $100 for a pair of breeding orange ocellaris.
  2. Hi bro, I am dying to know where did you buy that black tub from.. I've been looking for something like that for ages!
  3. Thanks everyone for the encouragement. Having larvae is one thing, getting the larvae to metamorphose into a fish is another. For red heads I believe it will take around a month, about a week longer than dottybacks. Previous try I got them past 2 weeks but I gave up as they did'nt seem to grow and I only had 2 larvae left. Now I still have easily 100+ larvae estimated and they do seem to be growing. I might have underfed them the previous attempt. I would have used a bigger container for them for less work & less monitoring, but have space constraints at the moment so got to make do with what I have. Apologies for the poor quality pic but it is hard to take photos of larvae that small without a microscope to magnify them.
  4. Then you can keep as many type of fishes as you want.
  5. Spent about 1K to do up that system. But I think another 1-2 months the system will be running at max capacity already. Need to build more tanks already.. Looks like I made the right choice for going for a fluidized bed filter with 2kg of media, it is an ammonia breakdown machine.
  6. Some fish in a 1 week old system. Ammonia still undetectable, feeding 5 times a day.
  7. After more than $500 invested in these gobies, finally I get to attempt raising their larvae. They are just darn small although they are at 6 days. They will be eating rotifers for another 2 weeks.
  8. Looking for a breeding pair of normal orange ocellaris. If anyone has a pair to let off do pm me.
  9. Selling a mated pair (not breeding yet) of Amphiprion allardi for only $50. Very stable. Female is around 3.5", male around 1.5-2". Selling as I got a bigger pair from LCK recently, need to make room for other fish which will be coming. Market price now for allardi is about $40 per fish. Viewing in Marine Parade. Drop me a pm to arrange viewing.
  10. Check this out.. http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/m...;Category_Code=
  11. Wonder when can I see this awesome lionfish in Singapore..
  12. Zoanthid lovers check out Ktizo marine. Located next to I-aquarium. Avoid 1-2pm, lunch hour.
  13. Keep your livestock small & it should be a neat setup. Any fish which stays below 3cm & is not aggressive would be great. Some fish you could consider could be blue stripe pipefish, small gobies, small cardinals. Nanos usually end up looking a little weird if fishes/shrimp/corals are too big.
  14. For small flowrates below 1200l/hr most UVs seem to be effective. Above that, very hard to find a good one. Even the large pond UVs are not that effective as they are designed more as clarifiers than sterilizers. Good UV units will state the uv irradiation level at respective flowrates passing through the unit. UV irradiation needs to be of a certain intensity to kill different organisms. For example, low irradiation levels will kill algae but not protozoans.
  15. I have a spare pair of allardi to let off if you are interested. Need to clear the tank for incoming fish.
  16. Don't worry about nitrites. Your primary concern should be of ammonia. NO2 can be hundreds of ppm without killing marine fish. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-06/rhf/index.php#6 More on kH. Think your kH test kit measures in meq/L, simply multiply the reading by 2.8 to get dKH. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/feb2002/chemistry.htm
  17. You forgot to put the hook.
  18. You can play around with the shopping cart. Shipping is more worthwhile if you order more items.
  19. A UV unit is only good if it can handle the flowrate of your pump. If you buy a small unit and run a large volume of water through it, even brine shrimp passing through the UV will come out alive.
  20. My friend might be bringing in live copepods from another source, way denser.
  21. Ahbeng has 2 pc of RED garden eel. I have never seen these before. Check out the mandarins, very healthy and unusual, got a few the pectoral fins seem a to be a mix of red & blue. Note the dorsal fin, I got one mandarin the dorsal fin point forward like the griessingeri goby. CF has a pink frogfish and the more uncommon marine betta sp. Also 2 pc of healthy red mandarins with 100% red pectorals. More expensive than the common mandarin by about 3x. Also a small 4" remora.
  22. Check this out, should be big enough to plumb to your return. http://www.saltysupply.com/Aqua-UV-40-Watt.../uv_a000060.htm I am thinking of getting the 25W models. If you want to share shipping we can work it out...
