  1. Add some green and red colored corals. Will remind you of christmas all year round.
  2. Learn to appreciate the diatoms. If not just put 2 turbos in there and let them eat the poor helpless diatoms.
  3. It's baking soda. Look at the contents before you buy though. Make sure they din add anything else like DDT!
  4. Eh? How you manage to add more than 1 firegoby? Whenever I try to add one more firegoby it sure get bullied to death by the resident firegoby. But somehow it gets along fine with a purple goby... Wah..3 feet tank 12mm glass. Looks like my tank very dangerous..4 feet using 6mm glass. -.-
  5. There's a devil hiding below your sandbed. Notice the horns? Anyway...You can always get a 50 gallon sump tank for your 2 footer?
  6. My first marine fish was actually a baby scat I caught at the beach. Brought it home and kept it in a glass horlicks bottle without a filter...just like a goldfish bowl... Everytime I need to change water I pour out the dirty seawater...fill up the rest with tap water...and added some table salt... Amazing it did'nt die...lived for many months. ..kept it till it got some red colouration on its fins..Can't remember what happened to it..
  7. ? Why not just use those green Eheim tubings? If you need the ends to be of different sizes just buy 2 pipes of different size..one bigger and one smaller and connect them together using a connector.
  8. Recently gave it 5 more snaily frens. One for $2...expensive sia..I remember last time $1 only. Then at night they would all congregate together for a meeting. They are planning to take over the world! Evil things!
  9. I have a turbo snail that has been with me for about 4 years?
  10. Ahahaa...thought I told you it will eat anything edible one. Dun believe me ah?
  11. It's your choice. If you find it reasonable then go for it. But you still have to monitor your water conditions before you start adding seahorses.
  12. Why not you all try putting the seahorse fries in a refugium or some kind? Deep sand bed, etc? Hopefully they will be lucky enough to find enough micro-organisms to hunt themselves? I know of this aquarium whereby they put mandarinfish in just a tank with a few inches of large coral chips. No feeding at all and all the mandarinfish are all full and happy. A point to consider?
  13. That's why don't buy those with flavouring or salt added. Look at the ingredients. Just buy those that use 100% dried nori only.
  14. Yea..mantis shrimp..big ones can even crack glass. Divers term them as 'thumb splitters' Be careful!
  15. It does'nt matter if they get light or no light. It is totally up to you. Just make sure they get enough food.
  16. Sounds way too good to be true. Even if you are using natural seawater you still must cycle your tank.
  17. ......I can set up another reef tank with that $$.
  18. The shop at Tanjong Katong. Got bring in lantern fish! Those black ones whereby their eyes are supposed to give out light at night. Also got one kind of nudibranch. Looks like a diatom or algae eater to me. Those have been there for about 2 weeks already. Whole body black with some green dots on them.
  19. Eh? Did'nt know hospital also can... Next time you go bring digi cam la Then can show us wad you mean..

    Naked

Cover the body with debri or fine sand (not the crown). It will normally make a new tubing for itself. Nothing to worry about.
  21. Coz I can see whitish patches appearing. The whitish patches usually indicate dead sponge tissue. Look at the water output channels. If you can see membrane-like structures being 'blown out' it means the sponge is filtering water and is still alive. If not...chances are that it is dying/dead.

Oh...okie...8 for $40 then. First time paying so much for end caps. Feeling kind of weird...
  23. Every week slowly dilute your saltwater with more freshwater. Over a few months, you will be able to convert your marine fish into freshwater fish.
  24. Aiyo...post the pics all in 1 thread ley...Easier for us to view all at once. Can reduce the size of the pics also? Anyway..think most of us know what a domino damsel looks like.
