Reminds me of the time whereby my Eibl's dwarf angel (cant remember spelling) lived harmoniously with my fire goby. After the addition of the yellow tang, the dwarf angel started bullying my fire goby until it went hiding most of the time.
Oh well...at least the dwarf angel died of whitespot that spread from my yellow tang. My yellow tang survived the ich outbreak though. Now my firefish is happily swimming out in the open again...with a very very unique looking dorsal fin. The top actually looks like a 'Nike' swoosh. LOLx...Victory!
Hmmm...my bubble adapted to my temperature already..
Btw...I find plate corals rather bulletproof. Thing is to find a healthy one. And do take not that they can sting corals nearby...and they can move!
Wah..so much nitrates...you can try goniopora maybe?
Anyway...I have long threw away my ceramic rings in my canister and replaced them with 2 packets of Biohome.. somehow my water got much clearer. ..just hope they can reduce nitrates. I have controlled the flow rate into the canister to be moderate. Can't tell how effective this is until I get my salifert nitrate test kit! My Sera one sux! It reads 0!
I find the smell of dying anemones rather unique and can be somewhat addictive. Could'nt resist the smell of one.....oh well..think there's something wrong with me.
Wah...looks like someone gets lots of Angpow money. Good for flubberina...
My angpow money never exceeds my weekly allowance. So that kinda sucks for me. My last angpow income use to pay my monthly hp bill then no more left already.
Hard corals got a few....and rather easy ones...
Bubble coral, Plate coral.
My tank temperature is between lowest 27.5 to highest 29. Mostly I keep softies. Can be real nice if you know how to choose the right specimens.
A living example of a 4 feet tank using 6mm glass is mine!
4feet X 18inch X 18 inch classic.
Pls take note that I dun use alot of liverocks and I only have 10kg of sand in it. The water level is only up to 16 inches.
Come to think of it I should really have reinforced the bracings... Oh well...hope it holds. Been alright for 5 months already. Previously used 1 year for freshwater planted. IMO the freshwater tank was heavier cause it had higher water level and about 40-50 kg of sand in it.
Acros are shallow water species. 20,000 K lights are actually meant for deeper water species. Best for Acros would be between 6500K and 10,000K IMO. Anything after 10,000K is for aesthetic purposes...
Been using Sera test kits. Been quite long since I tested my water parameters...decided to do so today....using Sera test kits..the following results where what I got
1) pH = 8.3
2) Nitrate = 0
3) Calcium = undetectable (cannot be visualized no matter how many drops i add)
4) kH = 4-5
These readings sound totally ridiculous and I am planning to throw my test kits away. All my corals and fishes look happy with their water. Is there something seriously wrong with the test kits?
Goniopora...keep your nutrients level high. You can try to experiment only skimming 1-2 hours per day.
Last time mine thrived in a 10 gallon tank without skimming and nitrates >40ppm.
The size it expanded too was 3-4 times its shrunken size! Until my maroon came along and....
