  1. Ahahhaa...aiya..another way is to surrender to the dog...make yourself seem smaller and less threatening..Eg...squat down...just don't show your teeth. They should leave you alone... If they don't...could try to lie on the floor and start rolling around..the dog might just get amused and bewildered by your behavior and run away. In my case...I don't practise any of that...coz I wear steel-toe boots all da time. Nothing to fear.
  2. WoW...water height only 11 inch and use metal halide... I so rich I happy liao......
  3. Their blue sponge they expose to air before putting in the tank one.
  4. Hmmm...dunno...I heard that they are impossible to keep alive for a long period of time...but oh well...I'm the kind of person who would experiment with stuff...that's how the hobby progresses right? Must have ppl who continually do experiments...Just like people who experiment with Moorish Idols.. My tank already got alot of specialized feeders....like pipefish, razorfish, harlequin shrimp and the infamous hard to keep flame scallops. Hehe..just thought of trying a nudibranch...if this one dies then maybe I shall just stick to the florida one ML has.
  5. Blend your own food. At least you know what's in it. Rather than to believe some stuff printed on paper.
  6. Depends on what kind of anemones you are talking about. For example...tube anemones don't require light at all. 100% carnivorous.
  7. Do I see the anemone eating a cleaner shrimp?
  8. Wow...metals...if you see more of the species you are keeping let me know! so cute!
  9. The last time my tank had a mantis...I took the rock out of the tank...placed it in a plastic pail...Took a long thin metal spatula...inserted it into its lair...and poked the guts out of it.
  10. If you really want use UG...place a Deep Sand Bed over it...use the UG to help colonise your sand bed with beneficial bacteria. After your tank is cycled...disconnect the pipe leading to the UG...now you got a plenum.
  11. Hmmm..i have one of those in my tank..came out of nowhere...lucky I did'nt kill it. I thought it was the miniature form of a conch....those snails that shoot harpoons to capture fish and devour them...
  12. Tomato clown. I helped my friend choose a baby tomato clown that had 3 full stripes. Bwuahhaa...
  13. I have considered the ICECAP 660...it seems perfect..but can't get it due to its pricing...convert to SGD is about $400+.... Can buy dunno how many Osram ballasts with that amount.
  14. Hi...I am intending to DIY 4 T5 tubes. As for the ballasts...I am thinking of using two Osram/Elibriu Dual ballasts...However..just to ask...are there any electronic ballasts in the market that can support 4 T5 tubes at once? If so I might just get one ballast. Any recommendations are welcome.
  15. Hmmm..ya true..but just in case sold out during aquarama I quickly buy some surplus first...kiasu wad.. .. That big bag can last a long time...I use 3 years I think I din even use 5% of the total weight...wonder how many years then can use finish.
  16. For the casing and ballasts you can use the commercial type. As for the bulbs..you might have to buy specific ones with suitable kelvins. Try to go for 6500K-20,000K..depending on the coral you are intending to keep and the color of the tank you are hoping to achieve.
  17. Wow....I waiting for genetically engineered clowns. Waiting for violet maroon clowns....Or maybe glow in the dark clownfish. Then under actinic...Woooooooo..nice!
  18. Yep..I saw those...but dunno if my tank has enough hair algae. Henry told me they ate hair algae... Not sure if my tank the algae is suitable for them or not.
  19. I had a maroon which hosted with a reef lobster (Enoplometopus occidentalis). They always slept together...literally!
