  1. Danono has raised a temptation in me to do a 2 footer sps with clam tank liao..cham...hope I can keep the temptation down....need to save $$...
  2. Plate coral one of the easiest hard corals to keep. But they still need good water conditions like all corals do. They are not that fussy over water temperature that much as compared to other hard corals. Take note that they are strong stingers and they require a moderate-high light intensity.
  3. No lah..young one must give it milk first..then wean it onto mysis. Ahahaha..ignore me..something wrong with my mind tonight.
  4. Does'nt a needle kind of tempt you to do something?
  5. Maybe I'm thinking too much...does fish=melons and lion=guy?
  6. Can Weipro be used without being hung on? I'm thinking of getting one and putting it below my tank. As I don't have a sump I'm thinking of using an external pump to pump water out of the tank and into the skimmer..and back into the tank via tubing. Does this sound ok?
  7. WoW diabolus...nice melons...errr...i meant balloons....erm....i meant nice clothes..
  8. .....I thought you meant tortoise...i was thinking...marine tortoise that roams on the sand bed? That's new... lol
  9. Oh well...maybe loan a UV sterilizer from someone? Let it get rid of your ich before it starts getting serious.
  10. If anyone sees the ###### anemone shrimp (Thor amboinensis) ,Periclimenes holthuisi and bumblee shrimp for sale pls pm me..thanks!
  11. My new shrimp is a 1cm anemone shrimp (Periclimenes brevicarpalis). Hehe...hope it does'nt get eaten by anything...it's sooooo cute!
  12. Sounds like a long term effect of nutritional deficiency. What food are you feeding them with? You might think of changing a brand?
  13. Sigh...oh well...that always happens with seahorses...when you think they are doing well they just die on you.
  14. Dun worry too much about it...with good maintenance the diatoms will go away soon. Try adding 2 turbo snails in...they really love diatoms.
  15. I would name the flame angel as..... hellfire!
  16. Wah liew spider...nice pic...reminds me of lesbians. LoLx...So Tanzy has spoken....but I think 100% water abit too drastic...maybe 99%?
  17. Heh..another type of seahorse which seems quite easy is the australian captive-bred potbellied seahorse....last aquarama I talked to the guy..they actually had some on display. But I think the climate here is too tropical for those guys...even with our chillers. Think they need waters of about 22-24 degrees...out of the range of most marine tanks here...
  18. Oooo..a carpet anemone...one of the anemones I find the easiest to keep alive.
  19. WoW...you have nice seahorses...and I love that pipe. If I had to choose between your 2 seahorses and the single pipefish...I would surely pick the pipe. I find seahorses a pain in the @ss. At least pipefish take food more readily......seahorses sometimes when acclimatized just succumb to weird diseases...my last seahorse I ever kept lived for about 2 months before something weird grew out of his head and it died.
  20. I had those in my tank during the first 1-2 months of my tank. Now no more and I kind of miss them. I think the amphipods rather enjoy eating those...everytime I manually removed clumps of these....I would surely pick up an amphipod or two.. Btw..smell them..they smell just like fresh seafood.
  21. 1/5 bottle is alot IMO. Normal seawater concentration of iodine is about 0.06mg/l. I'm using seachem's concentrated iodine. Dosing 1ml in my 180-200l tank will already increase iodine concentration by 0.04mg/l. If your iodine additive is as concentrated as seachem's....I can't imagine what 1/5 a bottle would do to your tank. As mentioned by bum...overdosing iodine can really have lethal effects. Think you should get a salifert iodine test kit and test the amount of iodine in your water. If you really added as much as 1/5 a bottle...I think even with a 50% water change the iodine levels would still be lethal. Just hope it's not the iodine problem.
