  1. I know a blue ring octopus when I see one...Such obvious blue pulsating rings...wat else could it have been?
  2. Somehow we must admit that foreigners have a different layout concept compared to asian counterparts..... just like planted tank styles.
  3. If I'm not wrong the powder is Erythromycin? It's an antibiotic...can be purchased from the clinic. Used it on my planted tank once...works like a miracle...green cyano never came back.
  4. The last pic looks so natural...are you sure it's not a dive photo?
  5. Hmmm...I've always wondered how ppl can thread water for 10 mins... I can already die of exhaustion trying to stay afloat for 5 mins...I am very prone to sinking... Although floating on my back in the water is easy for me...
  6. Wow..nice colours.... But....anemones and clams right next to each other?
  7. AHAhahaa..this is hilarious.
  8. HuH?! I did'nt even post... metals99 you evil guy! Anyway..you can get ulva from PR...$5 for a handful...quite easy to maintain.
  9. Orgasbt..check your pm..i dropped you a pm..
  10. Try buying some ulva and dump them into the tank...watch your tank from far...it might feel nervous with someone looking at it... When it is hungry enough it should eat.
  11. The boss has spoken... Come to think of it....rarely hear of internal parasites causing problems in marine fish. Much more common in freshwater fish.
  12. Is the 4th pic the ballast for the MH? It's separate from the MH holder?
  13. Yea...should keep fake sps too... save the reefs! 'Corals belong in the ocean..and not in our homes...' People who tune in to animal planet should find this phrase very familiar.
  14. Freshwater dip wun do anything to internal parasites..it will only stress the fish and make it more prone to subsequent parasite attacks... You could try some garlic to improve the immune system...and possibly some deworming medication meant for freshwater fish...not sure if they will work for marine fish..but always make sure to check the content of the medication in case it is lethal to inverts.
  15. It's FuEl...not Ruel...Ruel is another member.. About the phytoplankton it is still not really confirmed if it is need for the health of mushrooms... cause I read from an issue of TFH...they put the mushroom corals under cnidarians...same group as anemones and hard corals... they mentioned something like not all cnidarians can depend totally on photosynthesis alone...cause photosynthesis will only provide carbohydrates...proteins needed for growth will have to be obtained via external sources... Not sure how true is it...but it does sound logical..
  16. Beware though...Iodine is very easily overdosed...and can have disastrous effects...Pls check up on natural seawater concentrations before dosing..and always be on the safe side...underdosing is better.. If i din remember wrongly it's around 0.06mg/litre in Natural seawater...
  17. Hmmm...wow...considering it seems cheaper than T5s... Anyway..does the holder have inbuilt ballasts and everything else? Just lacking the bulb only? Btw...issit DE or SE bulb? I got no idea on the different...I'm a MH noob.
  18. They just need light....but not too much light for mushrooms...too intense lighting will burn them literally.
  19. Hard to say...my yellow tang really has a problem recognising cleaners. It has approached my yellow watchman goby for cleaning services...my blue spiny lobster...and even my boxing crab....lucky so far I don't think my crab has punched the YT with its anemones yet.
  20. You could drop by waterci**le and ask the people...Think they have bred CS before.. Real nice folks.
  21. Suddenly I thought of something...if i had the $$...maybe I would buy 10 of those fake clams and put them in a 2 feet tank...then take a pic n post here Then say..look! I have kept these clams under normal FL tubes for 2 years already. HAHAhahaa...
  22. You could get away with so many fishes...if you try to increase the total water volume... You could get an I-box linked to an external sump.. And use the sump as a refugium with alternate lighting cycle as your main tank. Will help to stabilise your tank water parameters at night.
  23. LOTS of salt spray when the bubbles burst at the surface.
  24. My cleaner shrimp jumps on my yellow tang's face whenever it can get the chance to... Evil thing! Anyway... Ever noticed how anemone shrimps jump from one rock to another? Reminds you just of the movie 'Matrix'.
