  1. All fish need space. They need their own territories. Your coral beauty might have already claimed the whole tank for itself. Thus the aggression displayed to the new comer.. If you had a 4ft tank or larger, definitely this could be avoided as there is less competition for territory and food resources.
  2. They are mainly photosynthetic due to zooxanthellae colonies they house in their tissues. LPS grow relatively slowly. Photosynthesis can only provide them with carbohydrates to sustain metabolic functions. For growth they will need a source of protein. Hence any form of protein like mysis shrimp will aid in growth. You don't have to feed them protein very often since they grow so slowly...feeding once every 7-10 days should suffice.
  3. Planning to sell the clam? Cause it seems to ruin the nice landscape you have...like an elephant in the middle of the nowhere...
  4. Your kH seems awfully high..what sea salt r you using? Too high a kH can affect your calcium ion concentration.
  5. Blood shrimps are meant to disappear into your rockwork. Makes good sense in the wild...especially when they are so brightly coloured. Any fish that is hungry....*makan time*.
  6. There's only 1 species of bubble coral...all of them can be said to be the same species..only that they differ in their vesicle shape.
  7. Euthanise the poor seahorse...think it is more humane than to let it starve to death. Or put it up for adoption. You can pm chinmo..he seahorse pro.
  8. My tank is bubbling all the time too..probably oxygen liberated by photosynthetic algae.
  9. .........you mean they still rip customers off? wtf...to think their marine display tank using freshwater gravel is bad enuff.....$200 for a bubble!?
  10. In hokkien cuisine got this type of seaweed used being called 'Or Chai'. I use it to feed my YT..
  11. Aiya..return them to the ocean can already.
  12. You don't need a chiller for fishes.....unless you are keeping temperate species.
  13. Use epoxy...or get a fake anemone.
  14. There are other things besides yumans...can always wait for the price to drop?
  15. All clowns start out as males..when they grow bigger they morph into females. Hemaphrodites.......
  16. Yea...T5 rocks...becareful on acclimatising mushrooms to T5s though...I think mine got burnt...
  17. In freshwater planted tanks...the more red a plant..the more iron3+ you will have to dose.. In marine...I think the same also applies to red algaes (Rhodophytes). As for the greener algae..they won't need that much iron..frequent changing of your water should be able to keep up with their demands.
  18. Just put it on something you want it to be on..make sure nothing disturbs it..like water current or fish..then it should attach to the thing in time...
