  1. Wow..removing it from the tank and putting it back...so troublesome....i tried that method before..the polyps were all too stressed to open. I think it would be best to target feed it in the tank. Less stress placed on it. Hint : Make sure their polyps are open before emptying the bulk of the syringe. No point emptying the syringe when they are not fully open yet. Use cyclops to coax them to open. Have a very good skimmer 24/7.
  2. I never feed my fish dried pellets..always frozen food.
  3. They only eat dying and weak fish. Depends on the size of the lobster too.
  4. My male sri lankan scooter showed the female how to eat brine shrimp. She soon learnt.
  5. That's when the liquor should come in... Then when you wake up... ' oh no! ' *crosses fingers*
  6. watch out for eden...gives out alot of heat. Maxijet is good as it uses less wattage..meaning a cooler tank.
  7. ah ok..no probz..will be going to thailand next month..hopefully i will be able to find my stuff there.
  8. ricordeas ah....of cause you go to florida lah.. They will be cheapest at their place of origin.
  9. Could try loaning or buying a UV-sterilizer. Helps to kill free-floating stages of the ich parasite. Becareful though..if you are dosing phytoplankton..as those will be killed as well.
  10. Lower your specific gravity to about 1.018..do it slowly if you have inverts. Increase your temperature to 28-29 degrees. Continue with ur garlic.
  11. Reminds me of the many mini-fanworms that come out from my liverock..wonder if they are the same..luckily they never migrate onto my glass.
  12. Ya..enough..if you got $$ to spare then go get Aqua C lor.
  13. It could be due to diet. Mollies are not fully marine fish..they might be lacking in certain compounds beneficial for marine fish like DHA, etc. For instance...I once kept a bicolor dottyback...it was magenta and yellow when I got it...after few months on a diet of bloodworms..it became pale pink and yellow. Try feeding it marine foodstuff...can go to market and look for white bait or something...
  14. Nah..urchin too undersized.. Get the bigger model. My 4ft onli using weipro 2012 though..coz my 4ft is the narrow and shallow type.
  15. Most corals feed on zooplankton during the night as they are more plentiful during that time as they rise from the depths. That's why you normally see sun corals opening at night in the wild.. LPS will then also reveal their tentacles for prey capture. Feeding on zooplankton at night might also be due to the amount of fishes during the day...which could compete with them for food and also attack their polyps.
  16. Dunno...I would personally mix grade 1 with grade 0...100% grade 0 might lead to your sand clumping over time..Something like why restaurants put rice grains in salt and sugar......
  17. Same thing lah..get a skimmer recommended for twice your tank size or something like that. Tangs poop alot.
  18. Someone in this club mentioned something about using a mirror to distract the territorial fish away from new introductions..maybe you can try hanging a mirror for your fish to admire itself.
  19. DrJekyl...your lobster you passed to me died liao...found it dead today next to its exoskeleton..probably died during the process of moulting...the small zebra hermits were scavenging on it...
