  1. If you decide to keep NSW I suggest you disinfect it as it might foul due to bacteria bloom. Add 1ml of Chlorox or 5% Sodium Hypochlorite per 10L of water. Add in an airstone and bubble it, within 2-3 days all the chlorine would be gone and the water can be stored indefinitely. Best to confirm with a chlorine test strip available from shops selling swimming pool supplies. It's always a good practice to disinfect NSW before using, wherever the source. Chlorox is my best friend.
  2. Wait 1 month before adding new fish. Most problems with marine aquarium is stocking too fast. If you stock 1 fish every 2-4 weeks your success will definitely be better. Most problems are usually associated with impatience.
  3. Next month will get for you. Berghia adults are no way 7mm. My breeding colony are all 1 inch monsters. They still seem to be getting bigger.
  4. Yes!!! Spotted 2mm berghia babies!

breeding nudibranch are easy. they lay egg masses readily and some species are hermaphrodites that do not need a partner to fertilize their eggs.

it's finding food for the young that is difficult. fortunately for the berghia nudibranch, their food, aiptasia, is readily available as a pest in most marine tanks.

you need to hunt 1mm aiptasia to feed baby berghias. Test of patience really..

  5. Do note that racoon butterfly will also decimate your other corals besides aiptasia. Same applies for other non-reef safe butterflies. I have successfully bred Berghia nudibranch for aiptasia control. While I can hardly see them with my naked eye as yet, I believe they should become rather visible in the few weeks to come. So do not fret, there will be a constant local supply of berghia. I will take a microscope shot sometime this weekend.
  6. Racoon Butterfly is the best. No need to wait at all..

New uniforms will be good. Had to re-adjust the position of the buttons on the old uniform. :D

  8. Check with Mitlancer, he looking for Liopropomas.
  9. 5 mins a day is all it takes. Good thing about pico tank is that it is very easy to change water.
  10. Close ups. Middle stag almost hitting my water surface. My fav tenuis.
  11. More than 2 months since I went skimmerless. Colors still holding well. Daily dosings of Phycopure along with my Ultralith dosing regime.
  12. Nothing to do with misusing space. Offshore farming is in an uncontrolled environment. In such circumstances fish supply can never be guaranteed. Fish farming needs to be moved inland. It's mind boggling why the authorities don't realize this especially after the red tide episode.
  13. Run your water through a 0.5 micron ceramic filter and you will know how dirty tapwater is. Within 10 days of using, I had to clean it. The rust could be rubbed off like skimmate. Now I even use RO/DI just for fish.
  14. Iwarna has stock for Reef Pods.
  15. I seriously would'nt mind another breeding pair but I have spent enough for broodstock as it already is. Unless you don't mind trading for high quality picasso clowns that are not easy to come by. I can offer you a trade for a pair of juvenile picassos. Some examples...these fish usually command at least $100 a pc. The white will develop further, the third stripe is'nt even out yet.
  16. Perhaps it's easier if you state how much you are looking for it. From what I know only the female is wild, the wild male died during transfer and they paired the female up with a captive bred male. Black ocellaris price is not what it used to be, it is really affordable now.
  17. Example of how colors will change. Observe the second fish in this video taken in January 2011. Updated video taken today, it has developed a white belly.
  18. Selling 2 pieces of Great White Clowns for $280 a pc, or $500 a pair. Great White 1 Left Side Great White 1 Right Side Great White 2 Left Side Great White 2 Right Side Below are the pictures of a friend's pair from the same batch of fish from the same parents. These have been separated from the group and have been fed using Fauna Marin Ultra Marine Base Color and Fauna Marin Marine Soft Shrimp. The colors have been insane. Insane 1 Left Side Insane 1 Right Side Insane 2 Left Side Insane 2 Right Side
  19. Given the high landing cost of Berghia along with the irregular supply, local propagation of this species will ensure constant supply at a pricing that is more competitive for local reefers. Good news is that the berghias have begun laying egg strands after a long drip acclimatization period over 2 days.
