Ooops...no wonder after posting I found the word kinda funny looking.

Erm devilfire...tank height is 18 inches. Actual water height is about 18inch-10cm. Quite blur about conversion of inches to cm.

hai...we can only hope their mindset changes in the future.

heh..guess I am one of the few truly responsible owners then...I would never abandon my animals even if i go bankrupt. If I have to skip 3 meals a day just to feed them, no problem for me. How do you define domesticated? There are many domesticated lizards. Take leopard geckos for an example. There are even albinos and dozens of other morphs available. It's such an easy pet that can even be kept by a primary 1 student. It's not in any way endangered nor harmful..and it's still banned. Domestication just an anthropology term. I could say my yellow tang is domesticated too. The person who abandoned the civet cat is an utter moron. If his cat had sars he would have been dead by now already. Furthermore, sars originated from china...not sg. Wonder was he thinking...if he could think at all that is... Many so called 'hard-to-keep' stuff can be easily kept by the average layman as long as they do their research. Just like the marine hobby whereby adequate research is needed. Compared to 10 years ago, many stuff can easily be kept now. I support captive-breeding all the way..whether endangered or not endangered. Habitats around the world are subjected to unpredictable human influence everyday. If no one were to breed them in captivity, things could become unthinkable if a war suddenly breaks out.

Hmmm..vdc..you seem to be from ava..if not then probably an ardent supporter of ava. I'm partly the opposite of you. The banning of captive-bred animals is totally ridiculous. I think singapore so far is the only 'developed' country that I know of that actually bans animals although they are captive bred. I know of many people breeding endangered species here. And believe me, the smuggling would certainly stop if locally bred stuff can be legalised. Once such a legislation is passed, I'm sure the educated people of SG would surely go for captive-bred specimens rather than wild-caught ones. The black market for animal smuggling can be significantly affected. I totally agree with you against the consumption of endangered animals. Eating rhino horn products is as good as eating your own fingernails. However, I'm deeply annoyed the stigma AVA has placed on certain groups of animals thru misinformation to the public. Such an action does not help conservation at all. Conservation composes of 3 components. 1)Education 2)Preservation of habitat 3)Captive breeding opportunities What SG severely lacks is no. 3 and partly of no. 1. The fellow mammals are worshipped. While the other 'alien' creatures are stigmatized.

Wow..I've always wanted one..but never could resist temptation of livestock over an xbox. From young till now I have never bought a single game console...the only one I have is my PC.

Yea..his frags definitely very nice. Encrust on the rock one. Will start making space in my tank..maybe clear 1 or 2 of my softies..and maybe some zoanthids.. Since I live so near to Joe..and I think probably the nearest? Heheh..

Read from alot of sources that sps need scrontium. However, do most of sps keepers here dose it? Or do they rely on water changes? Heard of this new Reefez Calcium Plus which contains scrontium and magnesium....thinking of changing to using it. Just wondering if frequent dose of this mixed kalk will increase Magnesium and scrontium beyond safe levels. I don't think it would happen right?

20,000K tubes are useless for clams. Such tubes are meant for deep water species. Clams utilise light best between the 6500K and 10000K range. It would be better if you change both tubes to 10,000K. The higher the number does not necessarily mean it's better.

With such a high flow rate someone definitely seems to be going for sps?

Which LFs selling Waterlife product?
FuEl replied to chrislwp's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
You will have to read the instructions. Not sure if it is lethal to echinoderms..but I vaguely remember that in the instructions. As for the dosage the marine dosage must be half the dosage recommended for freshwater tanks. I've used that medication quite long ago..when I was 15 yrs old? That's like 5-6 years ago...... -
Me and Metals99 each kept diff species of nudibranch alive for more than 4 months..his mati liao..mine still around..last saw it 3 days ago.

Liquidfry marine is useless..it's made mainly of egg yolk. No anemone eats egg yolk. It will only pollute your water. BTA will do better on a diet of phytoplankton and cyclops and maybe enriched baby brine shrimp. Or maybe small pieces of market prawn. I mean SMALL. No invertebrates will tolerate copper. And definitely not formalin. Formalin is used to preserve stuff! -
Reptile ah..got alot of house geckos..and 2 red-eared sliders. Back to topic..on the anemone.
-
I'm ok with birds...as in...can appreciate. But I wun keep one..I feel that birds are pityful when enclosed. And for some reason I don't like bird poo.
-
Erm..chameleon only one of the few things. Basically I love all things that are cold-blooded. Makes me wonder if I am mammalian.
-
Shrinking is a common phenomenon for all anemones. Especially when they are expelling waste products.

Later when sleeping then whisper in her ear : 'got present annot?' -
www.yahoo.com Search for the scientific name or common name of the anemone. You should be able to find proper husbandry information from there.
