  1. Crab..I've got that distiller at home...just that now my mom does'nt use it anymore..she got fed up of getting it repaired time and again...
  2. Ok...I'm just lazy to open my canister to change filter wool every week or so...that's why I just avoid them totally.
  3. Wow..glass pumps...reminded me of a bad experience I had..last time use to deliver fish tank..glass pumps ended up redundant..coz faulty..can't grip the glass well..luckily managed to prevent the tank from crashing.....
  4. I dont use my canister as mechanical filter...mainly I put chemical resins inside only. Sponges and other things that trap detritus are best avoided in a canister.
  5. My tank is also 1.5 ft wide n 1.5 ft high...good for keeping miniature things.
  6. You will have to let it cycle fully..no point changing water...once you add the fish in for quarantine the tank will still undergo 'New tank syndrome'.
  7. Shrimp larvae are actually a good source of zooplankton for reef tanks...considering that around 70% of zooplankton come from crustaceans; including copepods....
  8. A dead sea star stinks. Take it out n smell it.
  9. I'm keeping firefish alone. Tried to keep them in a group of 3...1 just bullied the other 2 to death. Look at the conditions of their fins in LFS and you know what I mean.
  10. Got seafan meh..din see any..but I know got alot of orange fan sponge.
  11. I would rather keep frogs with that amount of cash.
  12. Don't use commercial kH buffers....they will only raise your calcium levels further. They contain CALCIUM bicarbonate and carbonates..... I would suggest you don't do anything...continue with your water changes. Adjusting water parameters in such a small tank if not done cautiously enough can shock your inhabitants. It happened in my 4 footer..not to mention a 2 footer.
  13. I seriously don't think adding pH buffer would be recommended... 8-9 kH is alright...leave it to balance itself..or you can do waterchanges Dun be like me..itchy hand......add additives until chemical imbalance. Don't fix what is not broken.
  14. I mix in human-grade garlic capsules (super concentrated type) .....
  15. Something like my case. Stop with the kalk dosing for now. Check your kH..it should be quite low..
  16. wow..buy crayfish to feed it..so rich sia...never train it onto dead prawns?
  17. Lionfish usually die from overfeeding rather than from starvation
  18. You'll never know...my firefish jumped out twice while I was using a canopy...jumped thru the small hole at the back where my pipings come in... After I went canopyless...no more incidents.
  19. Mine lucky..when it jumped out twice I was around and heard the thud..about more than 1m fall for the poor thing...then I think it learnt its lesson and stopped jumping... Been with me for about 5-6 months already.... I also have a purple firegoby..it seems less inclined to jump compared to the firegoby....
  20. Mine jumped out twice..and that's about it..now dun jump already. You might want to try reducing your water level.
  21. hmmmm..why r u so worried about bubbles?
  22. nope..got it from ML....wanted to get the 2 Henry paired up..but oh well..not enough cash..so got 1..
