  1. ??? SpiderOne..you drunk issit?
  2. Nitrates wun affect polyp extension that much. I've kept hammer corals under 50ppm of nitrates before few years ago and they still extend like no tomorrow... It is more likely due to other water parameters. I would check everything if I were you.
  3. I have seen the tank myself...very impressive tank.
  4. Why not? I would..if the gal is a biatch.
  5. OMG...funny how it happens after my feeding usually ....maybe it does'nt like the garlic mixed with my food?
  6. Hmmmm..my firegoby fearless already..except to the boss in the tank which is my yellow tang...Not scared of me one...i can feed it in the water from a syringe.
  7. Erm..stick to 1 tang..cut off the anthias. Should be ok..since your fish are so small.....
  8. I have one sps frag..the polyps only extend slightly....I noticed..after everytime i feed cyclops and mysis..the acro withdraws its polyps and start to release fine thread like stinging tentacles. Is this a feeding response?
  9. Hmmm...yesterday added one maxijet in my tank for more circulation...should have directed it away from one of my frags..now that frag one side botak....... Thought it was alright as it was about 2ft away from the flow...woke up this morning and.....
  10. Correct me if im wrong....... Proteins come mainly from uneaten foods and are made up of amino acids. Fishes get rid of excess proteins by converting them into urea and ammonia before excretion. This is present in 'pee' The poop contains mainly undigested material. It can contain proteins..although not much.
  11. Ah? Should'nt you have added all your liverock you wanted while your tank was cycling?
  12. Yea..tried it around 30 mins too for my maroon clown last time...din even bother to adjust the pH..just used dechlorinated water. No problems for me....maybe because my clown was a tough fella. Just keep an eye on the fish and transfer it back when you see it having difficulty balancing itself.
  13. PAINT ALL THE WALLS BLACK.........wun it be fun during the night to find your way without the lights on?
  14. I would love my walls in bedroom to be warm PINK! Then the walls in my living room to be blinding white.......good for light reflection all round. And all my pets will be in the living room... Bathroom wall>>>soothing oceanic blue.
  15. Highest PAR is 6500K..but not many people use it alone..because it is too yellowish. Normally they combine with 10000K or 20,000K bulbs.
  16. One important lesson I have learnt from reefing. Don't fix what is not broken.
  17. no need to worry about koi lah...they are coldwater fish to begin with..
  18. Jann's pipefish..males have small ridges and some red coloration on their snout...females lack these. Never get 2 males..you will only end up with 1.
  19. mushrooms, zoanthids, softies...
