  1. There is a difference between ocellaris clowns and percula clowns by the number of dorsal spines they possess. I forgot the exact number but I think perculas have 1 more dorsal spine compared to an occellaris
  2. Yea...the cost of feeding them when starfish stocks are low is very expensive. Just bought an orange linkia just to feed my pair...can buy me 3 packets of chicken rice already......
  3. Nice meeting you today LinkinPark! Keep me updated on how it colors up!
  4. Kept one before..din even bother the smallest of my fish (2cm gobies). Did'nt even bother my flame scallops too. Helps to keep your sand real clean..esp when the lights off. However, mine sadly passed away one day....found it dead after it just moulted (my zebra hermits were feasting on it). Wonder w0t went wrong.
  5. Hmmm..you just have to make sure they are of opp. ######. Males have a raised dorsal fin compared to females and they tend to be bigger. Weird how things just pair up in my tank..scooters, pipefish...and recently..even my fren's harlequin shrimp paired up with mine without any fuss (both of them same size!)
  6. I agree to that...half of my fish are from r*b*rN. You must know the art of fish massage to destress them.
  7. Huh....8 fishes overstock meh..lucky he din see my tank..
  8. Hi people..just wondering if anyone has experience in getting sri lankan scooters to spawn or has come over any information with regards to spawning them. I've had a pair for many months already. Everyday 45-30 mins before lights off they will start dancing and swimming to the water surface and swim back down. But so far I have not seen them spawn. The female is always full in the belly with the male always being slightly concave in the belly. I was wondering whether water height could be the problem. My water height is only 15 inches. Do they have enough water column to complete the dance?
  9. Plain old marbles...I have about 2000+ of them at home..all won from 10 marbles.
  10. Think the thing to getting harder species to feed is to purchase smaller to sub-adult specimens. Might be easier to train them. Those who are keeping purple queen anthias..you might like to try feeding them bbs to initiate a feeding response. I've found that mine take mysis..but not the whole mysis. Lightly blending mysis might be a solution. I feed mine 3 times daily..not sure if it is enough.
  11. Looks like a man if you ask me..... Looking at the well-defined cheekbones...
  12. Camel shrimps are so named because of the prominent 'hump' they have on their backs. They are stout in appearance. They are red with white stripes. Peppermint shrimps are more longish. Body shape is like a cleaner shrimp.
  13. Yea...think that's the way it works. Actually if you can keep water parameters in near perfect condition, a temperature of 28 degrees celcius can actually achieve faster growth rates for corals.
  14. Truncate and Lyretail anthias can be found at PR...saw their feeding response...very healthy!
  15. Keeping corals n fish at 28 degrees has it drawbacks...as metabolic rates of the livestock will increase...leading to more metabolic waste. You CAN keep them at this temperature. Provided you keep stocking levels within range and you get an efficient protein skimmer to remove wastes before they start to break down.
  16. LPS survive perfectly fine in 28 degrees celcius.
  17. hmmmmm...saw one at watercircle before...was definitely a feeding specimen..but then I din get it that time..wasted.....
  18. Wat brand is the 3500l/hr pump? Interested...pm me..thanks. Will reply tonight...going out now.
