Sounds like chaetomorpha (not sure of spelling)?..short form is chaeto... Anyway..a 36W ballasts supplying current to a 24W tube...wun it kind of shorten the bulb lifespan or even cause it to fuse?

Okie..glad to know you have done the necessary reading. They take time to choose because sps are expensive. They need to make sure that there are no pests like aiptasia, nudibrachs etc...and also look out for the dreaded rtn (rapid tissue necrosis). An entire colony can be wiped out by rtn.

If their original color is white then it's nothing to be worried. It's their natural pigmentation. If you got them while they were red and they are turning pale chances are that it is not very happy.

Maybe you are not feeding it enough?

YES...DT is phyto..I did'nt dilute. I just put enough into the inverted container until the water was slightly blur.

Does it have a very pointed dorsal fin and 2 very elongated pelvic fins? Is the body triangular in shape? Think I caught those off changi beach before using a throw net.
