  1. Black sun coral..below some joining tissue died off due to not enough food reaching the polyps below. Should regenerate once fed enough. Size can be compared to yellow tang. Bought at $15. Letting go at $10 due to its condition.

Been used for approximately 2 years.
  8. How did you manage to come up with a nitrate value of 3?! Most test kits show them in multiples of 5. Anyway..you have very good discipline for someone who has just start up. No signs of overstocking at all. Well done!

    Agreed. Have 2 bags in my sump..they don't seem to be doing anything.
  12. Why not? If you are thinking of using a refugium just to grow macroalgae, another alternative is to throw out all herbivorous fish and grow the macroalgae in the main tank itself.
  13. Thanks for all the support. Will be getting my Ca reactor tomorrow! Cannot wait...finally wun have so much headache..mixing kalk, setting dosing timetables, etc... Just need to top up water after that and test my water from time to time.
  14. Yea..you are correct! 220 watts of PL might not even produce enought light intensity compared to 162 watts of T5s. So Warsteiner...decided on your lighting already?
  15. Wow...I'm running one of those fans 24/7 and my evaporation rate is already insane...you using 2........what's your evaporation rate like?
  16. NoNo...i meant i was feeding the crustaceans in my tank at night with sinking pellet food...some granules landed on the sun coral polyp and it engulfed it! Next i tried on my moon coral, it also took them... Hmm..now no need buy so much mysis to feed those corals already..granule food works just as well.
  17. Wow..just tried on my moon coral..it eats the granule food to..... Maybe now I dun need to feed them frozen mysis already..too expensive..
  18. Was feeding my shrimps at night with some sinking granule marine food...some landed on the polyps of my black sun coral and the polyps happily engulfed the pellets! Just hope to share this experience..maybe others could try.

  21. Wow...nice blue tip stag...reminds me of mine that kenna stress by a stupid mistake of mine....now only left the tip still covered in tissue..waiting for it to recover.... Getting Ca reactor tomorrow...no more dosing headaches for me!
  22. Post in d.i.y section or pasar malam thread..think got a few tank makers here that will give you better quotes than LFS...cut the middleman, get it cheaper.
