  1. Someone gotta identify this for me... such a cute bugger.
  2. Finally home..anyway....i shall not talk much about marine there..as most of the stuff are ridiculously overpriced..imagine paying rm $400++ for an ac*rd*a MH bulb....rm $100+ for a normal tube anemone...rm $60++ for a goniopora..MACRO skimmer going for RM $1000+ ......the list goes on... Marine husbandry not say very good at the places i visited... Will not talk much about cats n dogs..since I dun really fancy them anyway..with the exception of the alaskan klee kai. They had hedgehogs, sugar gliders...and I think I even saw a pair of marmosets! Pricewise rather reasonable. Reptiles were expensive though...imagine forking out rm $600 for a sinoloan milksnake...HATCHLING size. The star tortoises looked extremely healthy..and reasonably priced...CITES applicable to all. From common el salvado green iguanas, bearded dragons, malaysian gliding geckos to rare stuff like madagascan giant day geckos etc. Anyway..took some pics there..here are some to share (mostly reptiles). First pic>>> LEUCISTIC rat snake!
  3. Nothing wrong with leaving the top empty..my tank all the fish all bottom dwellers.
  4. I find common names redundant. Cleaner shrimp can refer to alot of species. Calling it skunk cleaner shrimp can also refer to different species... it's as good as not using.
  5. Wow..can frag one piece for me? I give you more spirulina in return?
  6. It's not a starfish or a seastar. It's a crinoid aka featherstar.
  7. Your intentions are commendable. However, breeding these shrimp are not easy. You will have to feed newly hatched young enriched bbs..and do regular water changes. It is not impossible...but nevertheless very challenging.
  8. Also looking for Lysmata wurdemanni, Stenopus pyrsonotus.
  9. The one in the pic has been identified as lysmata kuekenthali
  10. Leave out the anthias..trust me..active swimers have higher bioloads.
  11. Looking for the above. 'Lysmata grabhami is a Caribbean Lysmata amboinensis look-a-like, whose white stripe runs to the tip of the tail which is not blotched but edged in white.' http://www.breeders-registry.gen.ca.us/Rep...g94/scarlet.htm
  12. I thought the zoo was already lacking in manpower? They are retrenching more staff!?
  13. Wah..so impatient..very easy to get rid of the microbubbles escaping into your tank one wat...can't wait till next week? Microbubbles don't do much harm anyway.
  14. Even the mildest things r illegal here. If you are so concerned slimpy stay elsewhere but sg.
  15. It's not difficult if you put your heart to it...ask other fellow reefers who bought fish from me..esp those whereby I caught them on the spot admist the rockwork and corals. Fish-catching kungfu!
  16. Orh..no wonder you wanted to go down to CF today...haha..k lah..catch up with you next week...weekend won't be in town.
  17. Caught one of the evil sri lankan pistols in the act of burrying my goby pair alive! Chased it off to the left side of the tank now. Hopefully the gobies will find their way out tomorrow. Anyway..caught these 2 sleeping together.
  18. It's looking for food. If you were hungry would you sit at home or would you go looking for food?
  19. I would choose either 3500l/h or 2500l/h. 6000l/hr would be an overkill. Imagine the pressure in the Ca reactor..and at the t-off joint.....esp if your drip rate slow. 1200l/h seems too slow. A tee off from it would lead to a great fall in efficiency. I'm using a T-off from a 2700l/hr pump..works for me.. effluent around 54dKH and calcium around 710ppm. Think the main consideration is safety here.
  20. Hmm..you can try...I pretty much gave up on sponges long ago...esp so after one of my lectures..whereby i learnt that sponges can give out antibiotics that could be harmful to other corals.
