  1. Keep australian pot belly seahorsies!
  2. OMG...THaT fella is HUGE.
  3. Was at ML today..... French angels, glass shrimps (transparent yellow & thin), big huge nice reidi, orchid dottybacks, brazilian grammas, yellow-head jawfish, ###### shrimps. Lots of other angelfish. Anthias alot too... AND GOLDEN MORAYS.....beautiful! Price is about the same as a helfrich.
  4. Picked a giant jawfish at ML today....after 1 hour of acclimatization finally put the bottle in the tank..opened the lid..and it swam just where i wanted it to..into a burrow i created for it. Did'nt swim to the surface at all unlike the last one i got..so all should be well. Here is it while still in the bottle...It will soon be the biggest fish to roam my tank.
  5. my 4 feet is 6mm. Water height 15 inches. Rocks are leaning on the back. Been up since last july.
  6. Try H20 aquarium located near kembangan mrt. I used to work for them. They are the distributor for JEBO if I'm not wrong.
  7. Mangroves need iron supplementation to grow faster. Which is why we see them growly slowly in captivity.
  8. I spend minutes trying to read one line of chinese......
  9. Very little people keep frogs. Only a handful of people only. Frogs are illegal here anyway. Except bullfrogs.
  10. Ya lor...think got to do something with the capture. I watch one documentary...really not easy to catch the jawfish without the aid of anaesthetic. We'll never know.....
  11. I think you should follow the recommended flowrate on the box. I did'nt use a 2011 b4..so I'm not sure of the flowrate. But I used to have a 2013 running on a 1200l/hr PH. So most likely the flowrate you should be using should be below 1000l/hr. Just check the box.
  12. Still deciding lah...one fish die like that...the price can feed me for 2 darn weeks in m'sia......
  13. Maybe tomorrow I give Henry a call. I wun mind paying an extra $10 for the fish.....as long as it lives.....
  14. The weipro is a hangon. The pump will be in the tank, with the weipro hanging on the glass. It does not hang over a bracing.
  15. Yea...the pumping action is due to pH levels. Higher pH will lead to them pumping more. You might want to dose a little iodine to see if it helps (caution when dosing iodine).
  16. Hmmm..could'nt really tell if they were healthy..coz they were all put into glass bottles. But after it was bagged, the fish keep trying to 'swim out' of the water surface. Should have noticed something wrong and changed for another fish. The one I first got from ML did no such behavior, it obediently stayed at the bottom of the bag. Oh no...im tempted again.....
  17. Ah..think I stick to my sole jawfish already....too expensive for me to try another one...
  18. Nautilus can be kept..they don't suffer from decompression problems compared to most other deep sea organisms. This is because they do nightly vertical migrations. They are adapted to quick changes in pressure. However, I do hope you all know that the nautilus is under CITES.
  19. Sad to say...the new jawfish is dead today. Maybe I bought a not so good specimen. I'm not so sure myself. First day when it was introduced into the tank 1 hour after it was bought, kept swimming to the water surface....kept trying to 'swim' into the mirror image. Thought it was just stressed up, trying to get used to tank surroundings. Did'nt observe this behavior on the other jawfishes I kept b4. Did'nt observe it excavating a burrow like my other jawfishes...thought it was also due to stress. It was feeding..but not eating alot..also thought was due to stress. This morning, saw it swimming near the water surface before I left for sch.. Received a sms from my sis..told me it was doing somersaults in the water. Came home..it was dead, being scavenged on by my hermit crabs already. Can't think of any reason why it died..other than the method of capture...Don't know if anaesthetic used during capture will cause harm to the fish. Hai....still feeling sad now...although it was already dead in the afternoon.....
  20. nothing wrong with 28..my tank is mostly around 28 degrees celcius. Skimmer skimming little..hohoho...sure sign of low kH. Suggest you check your kH..most likely it will be around 6. Meaning fatal pH swings occuring during the night.
  21. Think it's more of a location and rent thingy.
  22. Pm me if the 6540 is still available..thanks!
  23. Some of the more important water parameters are not checked. I suggest you check your pH and kH levels..
