  1. Hmmm..I've got one which looks nicer than fish..flame scallop on the back.
  2. Hmmm..okie..let me know...hehe..just got pocket $$...maybe tomorrow go hunt for a small heliofungia..then can get alot of these shrimp mass or*y in the plate coral..
  3. I find it very adorable..oops..mistake on my part..price is about the same as a Helfrich...so better not risk it..unless got a whole tank dedicated to this species.
  4. Interesting pistols arrived at eaquarist..check it out..before they're all gone.
  5. Ya..I know..hehe..nvm if it does'nt wanna host with my gobies...still can watch it build mountains of sand.
  6. Helfrich are nice...but I would rather own these..... Dicordipinna griessingeri Price...USD $189.99 at liveaquaria. Cheaper than a helfrich anyway.
  7. Got those from PR...$12 a pair.
  8. Alpheus ? (the closest i got was alpheus bisincicus)..somehow the name doesnt show any results on the web.it was taken from a book. Hmmm..pistol count in my tank? Paired Alpheus bellulus, 1 alpheus randalli, 1 alpheus soror, 1 alpheus bisincicus (???), 1 alpheus parvirostris.
  9. They were getting along fine at first..until the purple one grew slightly bigger..then the aggression started to show.. Anyway..pic of these 2 shrimps..did'nt take note of the scientific name..gotta check it out from books...they are heliofungia commensals..now hunting for one small small plate coral for them..
  10. Face off between my 2 newly acquired gobies..pink bar goby and wheeleri.
  11. Haix..something is irritating the gills of my female yashia. Has been going on for 3 days so far already. Appetite still there. Gave it a slight hyposalinity treatment yesterday with some Aquamedi Befuran...put it back in the tank..still did'nt help. Somehow its ailment was recognised by the cleaner shrimp just now..the yashia slimpy opened its operculum to the approaching cleaner shrimp...and the cleaner shrimp grabbed onto something in the yashia's gills and actually propelled backwards trying to RIP the darn foreign thing out. Unfortunately its attempts were futile..my yashia is still breathing heavily. Have no damn idea what the heck is irritating its gills.
  12. Twin spot or crab-eye gobies spotted in eaquarist. Also some rainfords...some purple firegobies too..
  13. Hmmm...yea..the states is a good choice. Kinda regret doing my degree here...going to graduate soon..but like most of my friends..we realized we have learnt nothing.
  14. okie..thanks for your help...hehe..will post a pic later today...to show how pink they have become.. Just wondering..could the color change be due to food items? Recently I've only been feeding them orange linkias. Could that be why? Maybe after this I try blue linkia and see if they change to blue.
  15. Much better. If you mix, tropic marin clears up much faster compared to Coralife. I was ex-coralife user. Now converted to tropic marin.
  16. Just wondering...cause my female harlequin shrimp came to me as a light blue specimen. Now it seems like it's getting as pink as the male. What are the differences between H.elegans and H.picta besides colouration? If its only in the colouration I can say I will have a "H.picta pair" soon.
  17. I avoid shiny shells for my hermits as I have a feeling that those might be polished. I buy my shells from spotlight at tampinese. Or can always go the beach to find. Around $15 per hermit...cannot playplay..
  18. They live on rocks..not within the sand. They are more nocturnal like most crustaceans..but if they smell food during the day they will become active. It is reef-safe in the sense that they don't harm any inverts..except very small snack size worms, etc. They might sting your fish out of defence with their anemones. But I have not experienced any problems with this behavior.
  19. I'm not mad...I bought it at the same price as a H.elegans. That's why I put it as 'H.picta'. Might be a variation of H.elegans. Or maybe just a lucky mix up.
  20. Nah..post a pic of my pair..you will see my 'H.picta' on the left.
  21. Biggest hectori I saw was only about 1.5cm. Anyway..Terryz..the $120 for that pair I think was at lelong price one. I spoke to henry b4..he told me for one H.picta the price would be $100+ per pc...not per pair.
  22. Last time a particular LFS was helping a customer sell of a H.picta pair for $120.
  23. Hmm..blue..so should be the normal H.elegans one sees around here. H.picta are supposedly pink. My male harlequin is pink..but don't think it could be H.picta...unless it was somehow mixed up during shipment.
  24. Hmm..you might as well remove the phosphates now. Rather than wait for them to build up then try to remove them. It'll be an easier fight if you tackle the problem now.
