I must be outta my mind..its past 4am and here I am taking photos of my tank. Ok..was going to sleep..took a look at my tank..noticed my jawfish out in the open pecking at food although the lights were off hours ago..noticed my pipefish doing the same. Basically, all crustaceans were on a feeding frenzy too. The reason? My harlequin released babies!

Dun worry..zoos are as tough as rocks..mine opened fully after closing up for 1 month plus...
-
Pricing reviewed..$2 for 27ml. Scared 18ml too little for you guys when I look at a syringe just now..so add 50% more. Basically good for all animals, including fish. I've been feeding it to my pet house geckos too... they seem so happy running about the ceiling. 1) evileel 2) Razo 3) 4)

Its ultra-fine...so tangs won't be able to take them, unless you blend the spirulina with your own recipe like what flubberina did...then chances are that fish will be able to ingest it. Also good for filter-feeders like scallops, etc... Should be able to be used to enrich brine shrimp too....tried it myself before..the brine shrimp lasted longer after hatching. Basically fish fed on such brine shrimp should have higher immunity and health. People who keep anthias should consider spirulina gutloading. An article I found on the net. http://www.fishhead.com/articles/spiru01.htm

Its in powder form. Measuring using a small clear measuring cup. $2 can last a long time. Be careful how much you feed. Pls do not pm me...add your name in a list format kindly below and I will get back to you peeps at the end of the week.

tubby, Kalk Re. & Florida Rics for sale
FuEl replied to DeepBlue's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
Oooops..paisay..duno what I was saying..think not getting enuff sleep..slept at 5.15 am yesterday..what I was saying was that I was considering the chiller....not the Ca reactor... -
Just noticed my firegoby and my healthier yashia kind of flicking their gills on the sandbed..typical symptoms of ich...but the point is that...they don't have ich. I treated my heavy-breathing yashia with hyposalinity and Aquamedi Befuran bath for 15 mins a few days ago....but until now it's still not improving..the gills look slightly swelled up.. Should I suspect gill parasites and do something about it? Or am I just overly paranoid? Any guys have encountered this problem? Can share how you all go about solving it? Been keeping my specific gravity on the lower end and have been pumping my fish with garlic. However, it does'nt seem to work...
-
Rumor...you keeping your specific gravity on the lower end? I always try to keep mine around 1.020 to 1.022 when my fish have to fight itch. They seem to cope better.

Hmmm.. just wondering..these gobies seem more susceptible to whitespot compared to other gobies....are they?

Beautiful orange rhodactis (i think) from PR..nice rock it was on too... Placed a purple rhodactis frag on the rock..hopefully can grow with the orange ones.

That time my favourite discosomas were stressed up due to ionic imbalance..now with Ca reactor water conditions more stable..they have fought back with a vengeance.
-
Need help to I.D this green thread-like algae too...Looks yummy..lucky my yellow tang is sold. Awesome yellow star polyps..back from the brink of demise thanks to golden pearls.
-
Another pic..need help on the above mushroom too. Is it a type of rhodactis? Only know it's called "super mushroom" till now..

Need some help for identification. Hope the algae and mushroom gurus here can help... What weird algae is this? Been in my tank for months...look like green colored fish eggs covered with a green film.

Purple firegoby - Am i lucky to have a pair
FuEl replied to hamannbmw's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
I've had a purple firegoby and firegoby living together peacefully for months. Recently the purple firegoby gained some size...and has since been wacking the daylights out of my firegoby. If they are adults pretty probably you have a pair. Hard to confirm if they are juveniles. -
Check the rising column for muck buildup..too much can impede the rising of the foam.
-
Yea..nice to see...but hard to acclimatize...find it very cruel to keep a temperate fish at tropical temperatures...
-
Check the specific gravity. Sudden changes can lead to the shrimp dying. Always acclimatize newly introduced shrimp by slowly adding your tank water into the bag until specific gravity is stabilised before introducing the shrimp.

Consider the amount of heat MH will produce if you do not have a chiller. Use Osram T5s if you are on budget. Very cheap only. Only a few bucks for a 24W tube.
