Purple firefish are much more aggressive compared to red firefish. Pls be careful when mixing 2 different species. My firefish is hiding most of the time due to my purple firegoby (very tempted to catch it out)

The male normally only mates with the female after the female has moulted. I caught my female releasing harlequin fry one night before..din catch them out as I was too busy...left them as fish food and coral food..took a few blur pics of them..somewhere in my tank thread..

I don't see any reason why it would not work for a FOWLR tank...actually it can even work for a reef tank. Considering you know how to stock at the appropriate levels.

Update on my tank...all algae and diatoms gone already. Thanks to bros who advised me to lower bioload and to invest in Ca reactor.. (you know who you are.. ) Although I still miss the swimming actions of my yellow tang and true percs slightly.. Picture taken 5 mins before lights out...my abalone starting foraging already.

Flame scallops...the 6th month they are in my tank..they sure seem to love bioplankton..first time i see such nice mantle extension.

Only 1 atlantic blue tang spotted at ML today.. Also many bartletts. Left 2 rock cleaner shrimp (urocaridella sp.)

Hmmm..basically you can put anything into your sump..I don't believe in bioballs though. I just have sand and protein skimmer in my sump...that's all..
