  1. Hmmm..individual webpage? www.roidan.com
  2. Hmm..think depends on what plants one wants to keep. I was keeping the high light demanding species such as glossotigmas, hair grass, etc. Then also CO2 input to see them bubble like champagne. I used to change water like 50% a week.
  3. Huh..never hear of shoe goby before..hmm..Ginza plaza too far lah..I live in east area one.. Sounds like crab-eye goby though..they also have black pelvic fins. Thanks anyway!
  4. Think still marine pellets more suitable. Pellets meant for FW fish will certainly lack in certain essential amino acids and nutrition that SW fishes require. In my early days of marine fish keeping, I did feed bloodworms to my fish. Yellow longnose butterflies and mandarinfish seem exceptionally keen to bloodworms. I even used to feed tubifex to mandarinfish. Can't believe it when I come to think of it.. But amazingly they ate.
  5. Hmm..just wondering michael...since shrimp larvae in captivity are fed live rotifers, since coralplankton is made up of rotifers, can they be used? Or will shrimp larvae only accept live rotifers?
  6. Woah...20% success rate is commendable! Morgan..next time my harlequin spawn I pass you the larvae?
  7. Korallin clone...bigger and better. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...opic=13542&st=0
  8. $230 for seawater?! Imagine the amount of rowaphos you could have bought with that....
  9. It does'nt work for FW planted tanks too. If you don't change water at all you'll notice decreased rates of photosynthesis due to organic buildup in the water. This affects light penetration considerably. And soon you'll end up with a massive algae bloom.
  10. Hmm..frontosa setup..might be limestone rock or slate.
  11. If I had to throw away a fish while it was still alive I would kill it quickly before doing so. Steps include a hard blow to the skull or slow freezing in the freezer. For inverts I remember killing a diadema sea urchin before. I simply placed in pure freshwater and soon the water turned brownish red and the fella died in a matter of secs.
  12. Another pic of Ctenogobiops tangaroai..note the nice dorsal fin..
  13. I'll suggest just having a mature sand bed and some liverock. Don't use the U.G as the current generated will be too strong. If it is possible use an air pump for internal water circulation. Limit it to one bubble every few secs to prevent over turbulence.
  14. ...........english is so fun..how can you feel stressed by it!? Maybe find another way to destress...like maybe...rescaping? Playing computer games? For me I use computer games and LFS therapy..
  15. A virus in the first place is not even considered living...nor is it non-living. It has properties that could make it partly alive (coat proteins, RNA, etc)..but it does not have a nucleus. By definition all living organisms have a nucleus at cellular level. So by rights a virus is not classified as being alive, nor is it dead. Anyway...Human Immunodeficiency Virus is a virus that attacks the T-helper cells of the immune system..as a result lowering the body's resistance to pathogenic agents. Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome is actually a generalization of the diseases caused by opportunistic infections due to lower resistance. So in theory, if you have HIV...but you can fight of opportunistic infections, then you could be said to be free of AIDS. Complicated is'nt it?
  16. Any update on ML?? ..I know they got shipment that come in..but dunno what they have..
  17. Are those red discoma mushrooms? Can frag?
  18. Any other fellow keepers having this beautiful pistol? Maybe can discuss the behavior of this species? I've had mine for about 1 month (can't remember really)....it does not have a burrow but roams about the tank like a reef lobster. Today I came home shocked to find my cleaner shrimp (been with me for many months) being feasted on by the pistol shrimp. Its legs were gone. Other shrimps, crabs and fish are unharmed. Just wondering whether this could be an isolated incident or whether it could be an intentional attack? Maybe the cleaner shrimp went too close to the pistol and in self defence the pistol killed it? Not to waste resources the pistol fed on the shrimp? I don't really notice it going after anything..not even small shrimp gobies that try to build a relationship dangerous within striking range from it (it fails cause the shrimp is a solitary species). Anyone can share experiences?

  20. Will they eat yellow star polyps? They kind of resemble aiptasia in appearance..
  21. wow..nice discus...I used to keep the totally wild caught ones...but then not anymore.. got bored of planted tanks..
  22. Changing water is fun!? Anyway...I don't recommend too frequent water changes as you'll find that you'll end up with a constant burden of readjusting your water to the preferred kH values.
