Make sure you have sponges in their diet. Also don't save on high quality frozen food or pellet, flake foods. Lack of specific foods often leads to HLLS.
Yea I agree...it's always been a joy to hunt for stuff in LFS/farms by yourself. You don't get the same satisfaction if people tell you where you can find certain stuff...somehow the thrill won't be there anymore..
Hmm..it's still doing well. Although its skimming less compared to when I first got it to replace my weipro... Maybe there's nothing much to skim already as most of the gunk has been skimmed out already...
Sounds like a 2nd hand teco which I used to own..which I stupidly threw away since the technician said it was not worth repairing it since it would be very costly. There was a problem with the coils. Maybe you should send yours for servicing.
Most likely pistols. When they are newly introduced they will make alot of noises during the night. Once they settle down, you hardly hear them clicking at all.
Hmmm...something like how bubbles form in a bubble bath. If you feel the water whereby kH powder was dissolved in it kind of feels soapy right? Not sure how true this is. But I experience the following... Whenever I do kH topups into my sump my skimmer will skim more gunk, although it is slightly more watery.
Oh yes..take note of the heat that 4 tubes will give out. Either you use a reliable fan blowing 24/7 or you get a chiller. Or maybe an iceprobe? I don't suggest fans for small tanks. The evaporation in 1 day will make ur s.g fluctuate up and down.
Either you have gunk stuck on the rising tube that impedes the foam from rising, or you have nothing much left to skim..
Sometimes got to do with your kH too. I kind of noticed that skimming is more efficient at higher kH...
Recommend 4...most likely u will be using ballasts that can each drive 2 tubes. So might as well maximize efficiency and use 4 tubes. 3 can be aquablue while the last tube can be actinic so that the tank won't be so glaring. I would have used 4 tubes instead of 3 if not for certain reasons..
Anyway..my tank is not nano..only the inhabitants are.
Just wondering if you guys can recommend any good acrylic workshops. Best is around the east area.. I need to get some holes drilled into acrylic. Not the size of normal drill bits but rather lets say holes the size of CDs?
If anyone is kind enough to lend me for a day it will do also.
