  1. Eh? TMSI is thinking about farming seahorses?
  2. Was at pasir ris farms today...met lots of src gurus there. Anyway...Irwana today have loads of flame angels, yellow tangs, powder blue tangs, cleaner shrimp, blood shrimp. Have green cateye bubbles, maroon and green open brain, some croceas. Heard tomorrow will have shipment too..but around 5-6. Reefworld got lots of small flame angels, copperband, and some unique discomas. Lots of croceas too.
  3. Wah liew...if I know you wanted to get sea cuke should have sold you mine..
  4. Terrestial veges can be deficient in certain minerals like iodine, etc which are more abundant in marine plants. Guess it would be best to feed nori or maybe even ulva. I used to feed my YT dried nori..the type which hokkien people call 'or chai' to make soup.
  5. Lolx..AT..those are his veggie clips! The 'tentacles' are the vege stalks!
  6. Eh? I thought kalk only reaches maximum efficiency when it is most saturated? I dissolve 0.5 teaspoon in slightly less than 1l if water.. makes it fully saturated, with a little precipitate.
  7. I pour my kalk too. However, I don't slimpy pour everything. I make sure I omit the precipitate. I pour it at intervals..maybe 10% of the total volume every 10 minutes?
  8. Obviously blood shrimps are more ex...anyway..depends on the individual shrimp really... my blood shrimp is not shy at all.
  9. Hmm..don't think temperature is a factor...my maxima not affected so far...nowadays everyday temperature around 28-29 in my tank..
  10. Hmm..andysho..did you rest the monti on the rock or did you epoxy it down? Thinking of getting monti..but not sure how to stack..scared if I epoxy then i break the monti..if dun epoxy later keep dropping off..
  11. It's not really about the number of watts of lighting you have. You can have 220W of PL lighting which has less total PAR compared to 108W of T5s. Looking from the pictures the lighting does seem honestly a little insufficient..it might be able to sustain itself..but it might not be able to grow fast... Why not upgrade your lightings to T5s? They're becoming rather affordable now anyway, about similar to the pricing of PLs already.
  12. Yep..it's a zebra angelfish alright..just read about it in RC some days ago...all along I thought it was some kind of giant damsel..
  13. Theorectically you should be able to ###### a male from a female by its larger head for brooding babies (or the other way round? not sure..)..but I guess it would be very difficult to do so.. Best if you purchase them in a group and hope for the best. A good number would be 5. That should increase the chances alot that you have at least a pair.
  14. Hmm..why not change both bulbs to 10,000K and supplement with actinic T5s? At least color more uniform mah..brighter also.
  15. Algae do not thrive on chloramine.
  16. Try spotlight at tampinese..you can buy shells from there. You have to give them bigger shells if not they might kill snails for their shells or if no shells are available they will die eventually..
  17. Hmmm..mine has'nt jumped out yet..maybe cause my water level quite low from the top of the tank..
  18. Drop by eaquarist..they do bring in unique wrasses time to time..
  19. Hmmm..calcium reactor? Aragonite sand?
  20. Think it's more of the hyposalinity and copper treatment. Small fish might not tolerate it that well compared to larger fish..
  21. Go for frags lor.. more hardy compared to new arrivals.
  22. Rowaphos does'nt work that fast... You'll probably have to wait 1-2 weeks to see results.
  23. Pipe organ and black sun reserved by Eric as he can collect by today. Thanks for interests shown..
  24. Try bringing to your regular LFS and see if they accept a trade in..
  25. hmmm..black sea cuke...going for $5...fat n healthy. Growing too big for my liking.
