  1. I'm looking for 4 feet parabolic type...I know eAquanature used to carry them...but can't seem to find them available for the past few months..
  2. It's quite affordable..the most expensive connector is only about 90 cents a piece? While the aluminium is between 60 cents to a dollar per foot...I forgot the exact pricing..maybe later going down to ask again..
  3. Hi guys..decided to share this cool product I found. It's patented! Been using it for cage construction. Think can be applied to nano tanks and maybe even display your reef additives, etc. Can also be used to hold MH. Pricing very reasonable. Ok without further delay..the website. www.mcf02.com
  4. Yea..definitely a scroll..can't be a monti..

    14kk bulb

Think maybe because clams rely more on light spectrum that is in the lower kelvins, towards the yellowish side. A 14,000K bulb might be providing more blue spectrum than yellow spectrum, limiting the amount of yellow spectrum that would be more beneficial to clams. If the bulb was 400W maybe there would be enough intensity of the yellow spectrum that the clams would be happy with. Changing to a 10,000K bulb means that there is a higher proportion of yellow spectrum compared to blue. Maybe that's why your clams have been happier with a 10,000K bulb? Also depends on the manufacturer. Similar bulbs rated the same kelvins can look very different in spectrum.
  6. Any updates for CF? Long time did'nt see any update...unless tomorrow I go..then got update already..
  7. Heh..thanks sunny03..then if tomorrow go farms think I know where to go liao...go lck see blue spot jawfish..even if cannot buy must go and see!
  8. I won't mind lah..anyway now already hard to spot them. My grandma always complain that the whole tank cannot see any fish swimming around. Then when I start feeding then she finally say she can see them already.

Wow..impressive...nice design of your tank..overflows on both ends..and nice water turbulence at the surface. So many colonies.. Nice bicolor angel...one of my favourite angelfishes.. Anyway..think you can expect it to live for a long time, even my maroon clown lived for 5 years+ before I decided to give it away.. Maybe the bicolor can easily hit 10 years?
  10. Think if the test were to take place, it would require alot of resources like space, manpower, financing? Variables needed to be taken into account are numerous. Besides technical variables that need to be kept constant, so do physical factors. These would include the amount of D.O.C in each tank, specific gravity, pH, kH, temperature, etc. All these physical affects the viscousity of seawater, which can greatly affect skimming performance. So in summary, it would be a huge challenge. However if it could be done, I'm sure we can attract international attention from fellow reefers in RC, etc.
  11. Heh deepblue..if you need to clear some lps for space can always pm me. Now my tank bottom very bare..need to put some things to decorate.
  12. Are you sure? I have 2 frags of LPS in my tank..one a moon coral and the other is from the favia genus.. both of them doing well..less than 4cm in size.
  13. Hmm..finally today bought a bottle of white vinegar to try and clean the salt spray off my T5 tubes and my reflector. Problem is this, even scrubbing my aluminium reflector with vinegar soaked toilet paper failed to remove certain salt stains. How do I go about removing these stains? Oh yes..also been looking around for parabolic T5 reflectors. Those meant for individual tubes. I know last time eAquanature got carry...but been checking the website for the past months and the reflectors do not seem to be available anymore? Anyone knows where to get them from?
  14. Got red goby?! Tomorrow drop by and see maybe..
  15. I'm 16 too...at least I feel 16.
  16. First shrimp looks like lysmata kuekenthali. 2nd shrimp is from the urocaridella genus.
  17. It's the growth and development of color lah...Something like gardening. You can't do gardening with LPS..they are fixed in shape. SPS can be manipulated to grow into different shapes if you know how..very interesting.
  18. Hmm..chinmo bro...if you are drawn into the world of sps..then you will have to do 3 things...which I had to do too... 1)Start catching out fish to lower bioload 2)Upgrade skimmer... 3)Invest in Ca reactor!
  19. Yea agreed. Maybe one day we should oraganise a frag exchange between sps keepers? Then we can see the color changes under different lighting and tank conditions. Won't that be cool? Imagine a green specimen turning yellow in another guy's tank.
  20. Huh? A black tang can buy you around 2.5 black caps.
  21. Millepora? *shrug*..still sps noob. Anyway..amazing change in colouration.
  22. SPS never fails to amaze me...I thought this frag would forever be dirty green, as I got it..but today noticed something amazing...it's turning orange!?
  23. Wow...ok..not bad..at least they know seahorses got potential...I still remember my interview for UROPS while I was in Yr 1 in a certain varsity..when i suggested farming seahorses as an area of future potential the people thought of it as a joke. Oh well..at least TMSI took the initiative. After the interview, I was pretty much put off getting myself into UROPS.
