  1. Hmm...I guess so. Not the fault of the reactor itself. It's more of the valve of my CO2. Rather hard to tune. Think must get new needle valve. Anyway..increased the drip rate to about once every second. Will test kH tonight again..if it stays then I'll just buffer up the kH with sodium bicarbonate.
  2. Hmm...so it has got something to do with my dosing of kalk? I dose it manually. About 3-4 capfuls every 45 mins or so. Is it because of this? If so maybe I will stop dosing kalk altogether.
  3. Assuming my Ca reactor is well tuned (1 bubble per 4-5 secs, effluent drip of about once every 4 secs), will kH fluctuate during the day and night? About 3-4 days ago measured my kH. Was around 8.4. Had nothing to do just now so I checked my kH. It was around 7.6. Calcium level did'nt change, around 430ppm. What should I do? Is my effluent drip too slow? Or should I buffer up my kH with sodium bicarbonate? Oh yes, only recently started to dose kalkwasser at night. Could this have brought down the kH somehow?
  4. Hmm..i just melted a hole using a screwdriver. Just right. No need any valve to control. Very silent.
  5. They might...especially if they are still growing. I have had a bad experience last time. My old 4ftX18inchX15inch. Kept 3 blue tangs before..each one around 4-5cm. All got along fine for 1-2 months. After that one of them turn crazy and hunted the other 2 down. Basically chewed them to death while the frightened fellows were being cornered. Maybe cause they belong to same species? Not sure if different species will have such a level of aggression.
  6. Seen it before..somehow the output does'nt seem that bright compared to ATI or deltec.
  7. Think 3ft is too small. Tangs need alot of space. Your AT might get along with the YT at first. The problem will only arise when both grow in size and one starts becoming dominant. That is when the territorial disputes will become more serious.
  8. Remember the case of Marc Weiss products?
  9. Tangs are not for new tanks as they are poop machines. If your tank can't cope with their waste breakdown you might be facing ammonia spike. That's one reason why I am tangless. I fear their poop.
  10. Always take advertising words with a pinch of salt.
  11. Need air valve meh? I thought just need to drill or melt a hole into it?
  12. Flukes are ectoparasites which should be visible to the ###### eye. Normally they can be seen attached to the inner gills of the fish, protruding slightly. As for brook I have made a post just below yours in the diseases thread.
  13. Might be flukes. Might be brook. =x Check if it is irritated at the gill area.
  14. He lets the reef plugs set..then superglue the frags to the plug.
  15. Wow..just wondering..why they use freshwater crayfish?
  16. The thing about seachem prime is the sulphur smell.
  17. If I did'nt remember wrongly clownfish are born sexless. As they grow they all become males. The most dominant male will then change ###### into a female. In a clownfish heirachy if the only female dies the second most dominant fish (a male) will then assume the role of the female. This situation is reversed in anthias, in which the dominant female changes into a male.
  18. The reef plugs are cement. The others are epoxy.
  19. A pic of part of my sps frag collection.
  20. Growth pic taken today..22th of May 2004. Did'nt grow quite as fast as the tricolor above as it is situated in a slightly dimmer part of my tank.
  21. Dunno what sps this is...this was finally epoxied on April 26th 2004.
  22. The evaporation rate in a day will be crazy..
  23. Ahahha...write in to straits times..sure get alot of attention.
  24. It's because lower temperatures will slow down the overall metabolism of all organisms, including pathogenic organisms. However, sps will grow faster near 28 degrees celcius compared to 25 degrees.
  25. Hmm..gaga..i got the same type you have. Was just named caulerpa sp. by Coralfarm. Anyway...I leave mine in the main tank. No problems.
