Lots of threads on reefcentral to refer to.

Iwarna frequently have, can check with auntie.

Maybe diluted too much? Try 50% new water and 50% stock culture. Or another possibility is splitting too soon?

Have 2 palm sized chaetodon rainfordi & 1 palm sized chaetodon aureofasciatus if you are interested.

How did you prepare the new seawater?

Yes, these are legit shipments. Australia is very strict with regards to the export of corals listed as CITES II. Basically you need an export permit from Australia and subsequently submit this permit to obtain an import permit from AVA before such shipments can take place. Trade is controlled with yearly export quotas from the country of origin to ensure the trade remains sustainable, not restricted 100%. Even for hard corals, any traveller into Singapore can bring a certain amount out from another country for personal use. However please ensure that you have the correct paperwork beforehand from both countries if not things can get very ugly if customs checks the baggage, especially in Singapore.

Farm price will always be lower because overheads is lower. That's why it is never possible for LFS pricing to be the same as farms. If it's the same all LFS will have to close down. IMHO $38 is too cheap for flame angelfish, same goes for the current pricing of purple tang. If one fish dies you have no idea how many of the same fish the farm owner has to sell just to cover the cost of the dead fish.

It's about $60 per 1" frag, $500 per colony. Mostly from Hongkong. Some say they originate from Africa, some say from Japan, some say from Australia. No one knows for certain. There are a few varieties.

Contrary to popular belief Increasing temperature does not hasten life cycle of marine ich. It only depletes oxygen levels in marine aquaria & stresses the fish more.

Nice. Top looks like CITES 1 radiated tortoise. Below left I think cherry head/red foot tortoise. Bottom right looks like aldabra tortoise. Not too sure though.

Filtration very important as FOWLRS usually have heavier bioload than reef tanks. Good piece of equipments to have are an efficient protein skimmer & a fluidized bed filter in high bioload situations. Tank turnover rate very important, ideally at least 5 times per hour. Meaning if your tank is 200L aim to have a return of at least 1000L/hr. Do remember to take pump headloss into consideration (meaning you might need to get a pump rated 2500L/hr once headloss is taken into consideration). Match your skimmer turnover rate to your tank turnover rate. Meaning if your return into the tank is 1000L/hr, have a skimmer that has a feed pump of 1000L/hr as well. Do take note of the air intake and subtract this amount from the feed pump rating such that the value of the amount of water going into the skimmer is 1000L/hr. A UV is a good bet, especially if you can find one size that can accomodate the entire return flowrate & yet still have maximum kill efficiency. Many people are skeptical about UVs as most of the aquarium units are designed with inappropriate turnover for maximum killrates. For example if the flow through the UV unit must only be 300L/hr for it to be effective, it will be of little help if your tank is for example 1000L. Assuming your tank volume is turned over 5x/hr (about 5000L), you need at least 17 of those aquarium UV units running in parallel to be really efficient. If a UV is chosen, get one that can handle the flowrate of your return pump. Meaning if your tank turnover is 5X, your parasite kill rate is 5X per hour as well. Most common marine parasites have a free swimming stage so if you can flush you system more frequently via higher turnover rates and through a UV it will help a lot. If you need me to advise on UV unit just drop me a pm, the brand I carry is one of the best in the industry.
