does anybody keep horse shoe crab?
FuEl replied to that was niceeeee's topic in FOWLR (Fish-only with Live-rock)
You need a muddy substrate or very very fine sand with lots of small invertebrates in the sand for them to feed on. Virtually impossible to keep in captivity in the long run...Few days or 1-2 weeks? Possible.. -
Mary & Jane are lesbians. They were having some kinky fun in the bathroom. Somehow the electronic equipment they used did'nt pass QC and resulted in fatal electrocution.

Why you collect skulls for? Anyway...pm me the pricing?..I might be interested in the buaya skull.

Zoanthids are quite hardy but if they experience a sudden change in water conditions they will close up and take some time to open. I've had mine close up for weeks before opening due to dosing reef builder too rapidly in the past. Or look around for parasitic nudibranchs.

Whats happening to my Jewel?
FuEl replied to weishun's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
Either you throw it away or try an iodine bath. Looks like brown jelly disease caused by bacterial infection. I don't see much hope in trying to save the fellow. -
Strong lights. At least T5s. Keep temperatures from reaching above 29 degrees celcius. Choose healthy specimens...not gaping ones.. Place them at suitable spots (bright light, good water flow, away from other corals)...look out for pests like pyramid snails..Small clams will need phytoplankton feeding as supplement. Make sure fish or inverts don't disturb them. Keep water quality high.

What polyps are you referring to? Zoanthid polyps? Goniopora polyps? No one can really answer your question unless you are more specific...if not how would they know what you are referring to?

After today's early gathering..i dropped by somewhere in the early afternoon to check out another shipment..was thinking of getting the only (don't think I saw others..spent 10-15 mins looking) salmon pink hairy table(my own novice term coined by agar agarness)..i went to seek advice via a phone call..went back with the intention to buy that piece..then someone took it already.. -
Scenario 1: The balloon was losing height due to low fuel....one guy panicked...went crazy..picked up a straw and bent over the balloon and started blowing thru the straw downwards..the other guy could'nt stand seeing such stupidity and so went on to strip the guy for his clothes for burning before throwing the guy overboard to have some peace & quiet. Scenario 2: The balloon was losing height due to low fuel..one guy was an alcoholic. Drinking thru a beer bottle with a straw. The other guy wanted to take his alcohol away to top up the fuel reserves...the alcoholic got mad...a struggle ensued...clothes were ripped off in the process...in the end the alcoholic fell overboard with just his straw in hand. He died a sad man..######...without his precious alcohol. The guy on the balloon happily used the clothes as insulation material.

Improve water parameters, remove other forms of stress, and feed your fishes well. They should recover in no time.

Whole setup pic. Using a 2ft normal five plan tank. Will be letting go 2 to people who can give them the care & attention. Going to keep 3 only. Don't wish to overcrowd them. They need cool temperatures around 26 degrees celcius and below. I quote someone from the net. "Tylototriton shanjing, particularly wild caught, really hate water - if kept too damp for more than a few days they invariably get sick. Captive bred ones are less sensitive to this moisture for some reason. You have to keep them only a little bit moist. Ideally, a moisture gradient should be present in their terrarium with lots of hiding places scattered throughout so they can find what they like best" Thank goodness I did'nt leave them in the shop..

Hmm..after setting up this terrarium..the moss began to grow over a period of months. I'm using terrarium bedding which expands when soaked in water. I place it above a layer of aquarium gravel. Starting inhabitants include pygmy rasboras & a betta brownorum. Amazing the betta left the rasboras untouched. Did'nt even attempt to eat them. Today was at a FW LFS...saw these gems. Waited 1-2 years before seeing them in the trade again. Due to past experiences with the mandarin newt, knew they were not easy to sustain in captivity due to temperature and acclimatization. As my terrarium had been running for a few months, decided to rescue them from possible worse fate if sold to other people. They were just kept in a plastic tank with some water..so stressful for them. Now they are in my terrarium..have begun feeding on mealworms and crickets. Blowing a profantec fan to keep them cool (temperature around 26-27 degrees celcius now). Hopefully I succeed this time. Breeding? Rather hard in a tropical country..cause they need a dormancy period whereby temp is between 20 to 25 degrees celcius..maybe get them an iceprobe?

Clown gobies look cute...but you'll have to decide between them and sps..or you'll end up with sps with retracted polyps.. These guys have the nasty habit of eating polyps (at least that's what it looks like to me).
