No problem...i have dozens of blue mushies.. Anyway, is the red mushy the same one as the one in the same pic as the star polyps? From eaquarist also? Remember got one time they brought in red mushie..called them to check but I was too late.. Now I also hunting for pink mushie..

Not sure if reefsafe...only fear for my crocea..so separated them just in case..anyway...check these out...seen star polyps so nice before? Bought these from eaquarist.

It's a commensal shrimp. Now living in my tricolor yuma.. As for the starfish I got it as it resembled the bat stars found in the states...

Orange banded pipefish. Related to the normal banded pipe. A rather easy fish if you have enough copepod/amphipod population to keep them happy until they wean onto frozen mysis. But incompatible tankmates will kill them faster than anything. I suggest you separate it from your yellow tang. It apparently has a fetish for pipefish tail.

Will throw in some powerheads (good for nano tanks) for free. Eden brand (not the self-rotating one)

The first reflectors that I got from dr evil with stainless steel T5 clips riveted onto the reflector. Not sure of the material but I think it should be aluminium. Only used for 2-3 weeks. Selling as I will be changing all reflectors to parabolic type. All 4 are as good as new...all going for $30. Meaning 1 only for $7.50

If its attached to a small piece of rubble just epoxy or superglue gel it to a larger rock.. If its not attached to anything just place it on a rock in a low flow area and it will attach in time.

Not a good idea to mix. If you want to replace either one how are you going to separate them?

Hmm..could uv shielding pigments be in zooxanthellae themselves? Pigments do have to exist in cells right? Since zooxanthellae utilize light it is possible that these pigments exist in the zooxanthellae themselves..which is why when corals expel their zooxanthellae they lose most of their color...and the rest of their tissues appear rather white?

In this months TFH..there was this article on innoculating bleached sps with zooxanthellae from other healthy sps. Supposedly the bleached sps is put into a mixture of seawater with scrapped tissue from a healthy colony (should be similar species if I'm not wrong..they did'nt really say.) And the bleached sps will somehow take up the zooxanthellae in the mixture. The resulting color of the bleached sps will then be the same as that of the healthy sps. What you guys think of this method? Anyone tried?

which sps is the easiest to take care of ???
FuEl replied to sps_dude's topic in SPS and Advanced Reefkeepers Forum
You should start off with Montipora digitata, montipora capriconis and poccillopora. These can be considered the less demanding sps. They do need the same requirements as other sps but they tend to be tougher. Weird that you're asking when you're tank is already sps packed... I thought this question is mostly asked by people who are just about to venture into sps? -
Same...mine on/off about 20 plus times per day but it has not failed once even after so many months.

One of my other boxers..rather common but keeping it for my fren for the time being.. compare it with the one I got today shown below..

It's a small plastic piece. The end is shaped like the plastic piece of the FR you push the hose into. Just that this piece has 2 heads. One is smaller head to fit the smaller hose and the other is a bigger head to fit the bigger hose.
-
Don't suggest connecting the pipes using a cable tie...backpressure will lead to the area leaking. Just get a hose adapter...rather cheap and at least the hoses will be secured properly..

My first ever lawnmower blenny. Had to get one to eat my diatoms..will replace him with a smaller one when he gets too big. Seen here with my peaceful little boxer.
-
They are vacuum packed like the frozen slabs of cyclopeeze..so should'nt be a problem.
-
Try small crabs or shrimp or snails. Live ones to start with. No puffer will resist them.
-
malayan shrimp should breed in F.W....saw mine with eggs before..but once hatch rather hard to spot the babies esp in a densely planted tank. If you have fish most likely the babies would be doomed. Huh..stopping import of P.E mysis? It's good stuff man...still got one big pack in my freezer..everything loves it. Including pygmy rasboras.. Anyway...if no more P.E mysis then settle for the hikari brand..wat to do? Or you take over as the distributor here lor.

Sawed maxijets are different from unmodified ones in a few ways 1) You get ALOT more flow for the same power consumption. 2) The current is more spread out instead of a narrow jet of water. 3) Each time it is off & on again its output will have 50% of going in the opposite direction. You can use more timers if you wish..but I suggested a single digital one for economical sense. 1 minute of calm waters in your tank won't kill your precious things. Let's say you use 5 sawed maxijets on a single timer. Each time they off/on at the same time..imagine how many different ways current can flow. For one sawed maxijet can have 2 output options...5 will have...2X2X2X2X2=32...32 possible random water movement patterns?
