  1. Australia shipment tmrw 8am at Iwarna. Aussie SPS Aussie LPS Aussie NPS Aussie Soft Coral Chromis nitida Starkii damsel Bodianus paraleucostictus (uncommon)
  2. Might be easier to keep compared to multibar due to the extra care taken to capture & ship this fish. Collection & shipping if done correctly half the battle is won. Next thing is to get the fish feeding in a cooler temperature peaceful dim environment with a load of diatoms (the brown growth on the tank walls) for them to graze on and slowly acclimate them to brighter lights if necessary.
  3. All remaining Guam sherpadi angelfish will be exported this Friday, reefers who have yet to get their specimens please do so by then. http://reefbuilders.com/2012/09/14/centropyge-shepardi-mango-angelfish/
  4. If nitrates are very high, your phosphate levels can be the limiting factor. Nitrates will not drop if you have insufficient phosphates. If goal is to remove nitrates, I would suggest removing any phosphate removal media. Once nitrates are 0 or neglibible, then work on reducing phosphate levels by adding back phosphate removal media. I've been running solid carbon for months and nitrates has always been above 50ppm, while phosphates is a remarkable 0.00ppm via Hanna checker although I am not running any GFO or dosing LaCl. In this scenario I seem to need to add phosphates in order to push the nitrates to drop further.
  5. Always make sure the tank is sufficiently aerated when using liquid/solid carbon sources. While most people do not measure dissolved oxygen, pH is often a good indicator. If your kH is well in range but pH is below 8.0, your water has excess carbon dioxide due to increase in bacterial growth which needs to be driven out either via protein skimmers or other form of aeration.
  6. Quick snapshot of one of the guam sherpadi angels. Guam Yellow tangs have more orange in the fins & the guam flame hawks have less black portion.
