Might not be an easy goby to keep. Body shape and colouration looks like its related to the ribbon goby I posted in my tank thread. I bought mine for less than $10. Furthermore I bought 2 feeding ones. Supposedly very hard to acclimatise. 1 died the next day. The other ate for about a week and died. I suspect these gobies need colder water for long term survival. Probably somewhere around 23-25 degrees celcius. Not sure if the goby ryan posted is from cooler waters, but it might just be so. Best to check up on the species before committing. I did'nt..

Haven of frags..wonder how they would have grown out to be if I did'nt tear down my tank.. Miss the super pink birdnest..

These guys need to be fed and given light. With appropriate care they will look awesome. Mostly overlooked as they don't appear pretty on arrival..but with great care...they look awesome!

Ever since tearing down my 4 footer "nano" sps tank..had no time to keep sps..Most likely would have to wait 2 years before I'm ready for them again.. First pic...show a nice one..only lit by 3 ATI T5 bulbs. Had just a simple needlewheel skimmer with 25ppm of nitrates at that time I think. Was using RM calcium reactor. Current was supplied with only one modified maxijet 1200 on timer. Does this pic remind you of zeovit system? Was surprised when I came across this old photo..wonder how my water was so clear last time..

These only come out to feast on detritus and other form of organic matter that is mixed with the fine sand. They filter out the food using their mouthparts and deposit the clean sand as pellets on the shore. During high tide they reside deep in the burrows which are covered with water. Their burrows are specially constructed to have trapped air pockets inside in which they breathe the air from. Without such conditions simulated in captivity they often drown if kept submerged long term. They will NOT feed when submerged.

Hmmm...jewel tanks always look amazing no matter what people keep in them. I'm actually helping to promote these tanks now..wish I can have one next time...esp the RIO 400..can use it to keep shrimps...coupled with the float glass..wow...awesome shrimps!

Hey bro..can try feeding pinhead crickets next time.

Main reasons why elegance corals should be boycotted for now - bad collection practices - not enough information on their specific husbandry One big reason which I think why most people have dying elegance corals is because they killed them with light. I "experimented" with mine by switching it to higher light intensity (only 9 inches below 2 T5s) and i euthanised it in a week cause it looked miserably shrivelled. So people who still insist to keep elegance...give them shades.

Giving it away. About thumb length. Rather emaciated in my prop tanks. Think not enough algae for it to eat. Collection will be on this wednesday at pet safari, eastpoint mall. Interested adoptees pm me your contacts.

Selling frags of this specimen. Going for $5 per frag. Each frag is about 50 cent size. Colors should become more intense if kept under 20,000K lights or supplemented with actinics. Currently I keep them under 10,000K ATI lighting. Pm me if interested. Collection will be at pet safari, eastpoint mall (next to simei mrt).

Depends on the size of the ###### shrimps and the glass shrimps compared to the pipefish. Mine left my ###### and glass shrimps alone. Newly introduced shrimps should be guided to the rockwork. If you just dump then into the water column, your tame pipefish might think they're mysis. I lost a shrimp like that before. It did'nt get devoured...but it got stunned to death by the suction of the pipefish.

? Nitrates don't really harm fishes that much I think.. Do weekly water changes and buy an eheim professional 2 from me...problems solved!
-
Get your nitrate level confirmed by using a reputable marine test kit like salifert or minilabor test kits. No point going through all the hassle to solve a problem which might not be there. Happened to me in the past while I was using sera test kit. I can change 90% of my water in my 2ft last time & my nitrate level still remained the "same".

Hmmm..I kept my pipes in sps tank last time. Best if you have alot of caves for them to swim in and out of. Certain species are easier to wean onto frozen foods. Such as normal banded pipefish and Jann's pipefish. I find the orange banded pipefish one of the hardest pipefish to wean.

I've kept electric blue zoanthids under normal NEC 6500K FL tubes and their colors remained superb.
