Get sun corals that have been fed after collection from the wild, when they are being held before shipping out. Helps a lot. The usual ones have not been fed in weeks that is why it's so hard to get them to open again. Iwarna does import sun corals from Australia. These open on the day of arrival.

Emperor has rashes... any Doctor here ?
FuEl replied to Bulldozer's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
Probably flukes. Best to give the fish a freshwater dip or praziquantel bath. Alternatively feed him Dr G's Deworm RX available at Iwarna, Madpetz or Marinelife. It contains praziquantel as an active ingredient & when consumed by the fish will cause the flukes to dislodge. -

Give Fauna Marin Ultraphos a try. A 1L bottle will last you a long long time. This product has solved many hair algae issues in tanks which were running mostly iron based phosphate removers.

If you cannot figure out what's wrong do a big 80% water change with either NSW or a reliable brand of salt. SPS are more sensitive to other contaminants which may not affect LPS that much, such levels of contaminants are always higher in lower grade sea salt. These cannot be detected by conventional test kits. Such contaminants include heavy metals which are often many times greater in low quality sea salt as compared to NSW levels.
