It's in the dorsal fin.

If you like watching tv most of the time after you reach home from work I got the perfect suggestion. Sand skin dog (Translated from chinese cause I don't know the English name for it). Won't be hyperactive like other dogs.
-
Wow you were able to find it in Sg?
-
That's why they prefer copepods or copepod nauplii anytime. Rotifers look very difficult to catch (if you see the speed at which they swim).

Oh..yea..forgot to include the magnification of the eyepiece..

Hmmm..can always strip the oyster or mussel yourself for the eggs. Will save you alot of $. Mussels are cheaper alternative. Those with orange tissue are the ones that contain eggs. Those with white tissue are...haha...I don't need to elaborate. For oysters both males and females have white gonads. You can release the eggs/sperm by slicing the gonad contents into a beaker. You can tell which are eggs just by the ###### eye.

Weirdest looking marine aquarium fish?

Wow you came up with more pics than I could...nice fish really...like a miniature frogfish that is goby safe. -
Hmm..phytoplankton can be seen under 10X magnification. Green flagellate microalgae like nannochloropsis, tetraselmis are similar to shape to those "specks" (probably cocci bacteria for the smaller specks) in your photo although they will be much much smaller and will look green . These tend to move around and it would be good to kill them with formalin before trying to take photographs. Then again if you are looking for microalgae cells in a drop of tank water your tank water probably needs to have a slight green tinge for you to spot a few. If your tank water looks visibly clear you have to view alot of water before finding one algae cell.

Hmm..think you might be referring to S.cyanoscelis where they have blue/purple legs? S.zanzibaricus is larger and the claws are whitish and they have 2 big red spots at the abdomen. S.scutellatus looks like S.cyanoscelis but I presume it should be S.cyanoscelis as it is found in our region. Anyway, these are not hermaphroditic shrimp. So males will fight with males, females will fight with females. The only way you might safely pair them up is by judging by the size. Pair them like clownfish, separate them with a permeable barrier first. They probably associate first using sight and maybe smell. Yes, due to their small size..they are relatively safe with gobies and small fish. However if it turns out to be S.zanzibaricus it might not be so safe with small fish due to its larger size. The adult size is about the size of an adult common boxer. Check out the article in one of the threads below named "Pairing your shrimp". There's a small section on how Stenopus species pair up. Cheers~

Hmmm...I dont understand Jap..only look at it for species identification. Once I get the species name the rest of the info should be easy to find from other sources.

Saw this fish on a Japanese website..Im stunned. It looks like a pebble. Lethotremus awae

Oh gosh..took a closer look at the site..so many amazing inverts we have not seen yet..check out Lysmatella prima and the hermit Ciliopagurus krempfi ..

Nothing wrong with canisters as long as they are cleaned out and the wool and filtration medium replaced as needed. As they are meant to trap dirt, you should not rely it to house the bulk of your beneficial bacteria too much as you will be cleaning it regulary. Use liverock as your main biological filtration. The biological filtration provided by the canister should be only viewed as secondary.

Have been doing some searching. So far I found that Urocaridella a.k.a glass shrimps/arrow shrimps got 4 species. Might be more but literature is really scarce.. http://www.poe-poe.com/crustacea.html The site also has pics of many marine shrimps and crabs in the aquarium trade. Man...I just love japanese sites.. All shrimp lovers unite!

As they saying goes..if you can't beat them, join them. Since they are racist towards you, you have all the right to be racist against them. Just wear a T-shirt bearing the words "Nazis are retards". If they continue being racist to you, what does it imply?

Yea..find out the name of the virus. Then go sites like Symantec or Trend Micro which offer on-site manual instructions. Involves fiddling around with the registry and manually deleting the files though. Quite easy to follow if you got the time.

Roses? Hmmm...This song should be meaningful to this topic Guns N Roses - Civil war. "My hands are tied The billions shift from side to side And the wars go on with brainwashed pride For the love of God and our human rights And all these things are swept aside By bloody hands time can't deny And are washed away by your genocide And history hides the lies of our civil wars"

Nah I don't think he meant it as a racist comment but more of a general statement. Like how chinese prefer to chinese chicks, malays prefer to date malay chicks, indians prefer to date indian chicks, etc, etc. Then again there are always exceptions. Like some reefers here longing for Jap chicks..haha..Chill~

Nah..more than $5000 now. For Science faculty its $6000++..and that's after being subsidised by government (if you are Sg citizen or PR). If you pay the full fee I think its 10-13K per semester..forgot the exact amount..

Just have your skimming and activated carbon running properly and it should'nt pose a problem. It's quite a small animal anyway, the toxins released (if it happens) won't be alot.

Do you think SG's economy is recovering (SERIOUS
FuEl replied to minsmarine's topic in General Reefkeeping_
Agreed. A big mistake is to buy a house or a car with a loan from a bank. My dad told me, never ever be a slave to a bank. -
Ever wondered how much you can save without a car in Sg? No need for petrol expenses, parking expenses, car maintenance fees, or the price of the car itself. Even motorbikes better alternative. By then 6-10 feet reef tank also no problem to maintain. By taking public transport 1) Reduce pollution 2) Save $ 3) The awesome scenery of chicks.

Hmm..agree with you on that point. Cause my salinity was 1.030 and all livestock in the tank were doing ok..they probably adapted to that high salinity over time. It's a different story when you introduce new stock as they are not given such time (a few hrs might not even be sufficient for some inverts) to get used to a probably misread salinity level. Hmm..anyway..like most have suggested a massive water change would seem like a wise thing to do.

The purpose in life is already shown by god (if there is one). The hints and signs are so obvious. Or at least that's how I interpret it The first hint from god is AIDS. To him, Aids is the only form of salvation for mankind. If a cure for AIDS was found, I could surely say mankind will become extinct in no time. So the first purpose: don't find a cure for Aids. The second hint from god is natural disasters. Most of them are amplified due to mankind's stupid management and restructuring of the environment. Affected drainage due to urbanisation..global warming..etc, etc. The second purpose: Tear down everything and live like how the prehistoric people did. The third hint from god is to take to your bicycles and legs or it's time to use environmentally friendly vehicles like hydrogen powered cars. Why do you think oil prices went up? So the third purpose: Stop the global demand for oil. Anyway, iantoh.. I don't see mankind as the keystone species. Keystone species are the natural flora and fauna. Simply because we rely on them...they never relied on us for survival.
