  1. Coralline stimulator by Florida Aquafarms. Works like a charm.
  2. Diatoms need silicates for growth. Silicates are found in tapwater. If you are feeding your diatoms weekly why should'nt they be growing? Ability of media claiming to remove silicates is never advertised to be 100% absorption. Stop using tapwater & you will solve your problem.

  7. Siphamia do best with urchin host, without which they seem very shy. Yes the pipefish coming 2pcs only, good for SPS keepers apparently they do eat some parasites on sps. http://www.acquaportal.it/Articoli/Marino/Biologia/mimetismo/images/Corythoichthys-amplexus.jpg Here's a pic of the very elusive trimma naudei. http://pds.exblog.jp/pds/1/200803/19/74/c0142374_23394218.jpg Siphamia versicolor is a very nice cardinal fish species as well. http://www.poppe-images.com/photo/collection/950000/web/952454.jpg Kamoharai blenny left last pc available.
  8. 9. Sodium bicarbonate will increase salinity over time due to the sodium component so it is always advisable to check salinity when using the balling method. In my honest opinion, food grade additives are only good enough for reef aquariums if you are keeping up with regular water changes. Food grade chemicals contain impurities that the human body can process/remove,, which is why they are termed food grade. In reef aquariums such impurities can build up over time as their removal by reef organisms can be limited. You can be using food grade additives and everything works out fine until few years later you end up with mysterious deaths of animals which nothing can explain. Then a huge water change solves the "unknown" problem. Many strive to achieve 0 TDS readings from RO/DI but end up mixing this water with food grade supplements...the irony of it all. Short term savings yes, long term costs = ? Food for thought: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1965327
  10. Carribean shipment arrive at Iwarna. Have 1pc candy basslet left for grabs. Good size 4cm, it's carmabi not swalesi.

  13. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2352039&highlight=garlic Off topic but another fact about garlic on reef fish.
  14. I'm not saying garlic doesn't work on ich, I'm just saying there are better alternatives that can have less/no side effects on the fish. You don't see much public aquaria using garlic. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=1375920
  15. Move all farming inland, no more such problems. Singapore being such a developed country should have supported inland intensive aquaculture long ago. It's a shame when all the authorities want to do is to push fish farmers off valuable land so the land can be used for more profitable purposes. When you do fish farming offshore, there is no control over water quality. Fish farming itself is risky business, much less adding on the risks associated with the elements.
  16. There is insufficient information on garlic & I would avoid it as possible. It indiscriminately targets both pathogenic and beneficial microbes. You are better off using a food which has beta glucan incorporated. Such foods are not considered medication but they will elevate the non-specific immune system of fish by 30%. An example of one such food is Aegis Flake/Pellets by New Era which has 2 different immunostimulants incorporated and has been extensively tested & proven in large public aquaria throughout the world. http://www.reefs.com/blog/2012/04/25/a-new-era-in-aquarium-feeds/
  17. Do note that there will be price adjustments due to rising business costs, do not compare with old prices. Even seawater price has increased.
  18. Reef Vitality increases water clarity, thus increased light penetration. Isolated bleaching is usually due to LED burn, such symptoms are almost never seen in aquariums running other forms of lighting as the light is more dispersed.
  19. Friday 8am at Iwarna: We've seen green & orange halcurias anemones. Debut of yellow halcurias anemones! Limited pcs.
  20. Thurs morning 8am at Iwarna: Australia shipment. Stocks: Assorted SPS, orange lace corals, pipe organs, echinopora sp, montipora sp., birdnests coral, golden orange torch corals , chromis nitida, laboutei wrasse, medium-large choati wrasse, escenius tigris, old wife x 1, 2x white bar boxfish (Anoplocapros lenticularis).
  21. Iwarna had many 2-3 months ago. There is still a large purple bicolor colony left. Most of the colors you see are only accentuated by LED light. They won't look so nice under normal sunlight.
