  1. sorry for digging up this rather old thread but I guess this is something relevant to what I am looking for. Anyone using digital Salinity tester? The one from JBJ has been discontinued and I am looking for a handheld tester which allows me to measure my salinity levels easily. The Pinpoint tester is out of my budget.... Found this online in Singapore. Not sure if anyone is using and can provide some feedback but it seems like the choices are very limited.
  2. Your tank is getting nicer everyday as I view the thread! On the photos: Your photos seems to incorporate some hand shakes.... Did you take the photos hand held? If yes, maybe you can get a tripod to stabilize. If it is too troublesome, press your lens onto your tank's glass surface to get a steadier photo. You may want to turn off your your pumps and wavemakers when you want to take photos of your corals. Corals moving because of the water flow will cause your photos to have motion blur. Lastly, use a smaller aperture value with the faster shutter speed it allows (turn on all your lights). This will allow you to capture sharper photos on most part of your corals. 2cents
  3. I think this is the Brooklynella Diagnosis. Do you have a quarantine tank? The last time my clown had this, I gave them medication which helped but most corals and inverts can't take it....
  4. When the urge rules over.... cannot wait lah! Btw I did the mod as per the video last night and Voila! All the sticky biopellets are now dancing so nicely... hehe at least for my standard Let's hope it will last though Buy Buy Buy disease gone + Cost avoidance!
  5. Wahaha bro, you just stopped me from clicking Fish Street's check out button! But for my case, I already have the TLF and getting the eductor from Fish Street is not that high compared to me getting new FR30. Same problem I faced, the smallest is 3/4" and I think TLF is much smaller. May need to find a way to connect both up.
  6. I came across something similar as I do more research. Something I don't understand on silicon e short pipe to the cover pipe. Flip the longer pipe upside down Does this mean, you have two red plastic mesh touching each other? You simply flip the long pipe over and attach it to the upper red mesh? How long did you use this with no clumping problem? TIA!
  7. thanks bro, this video really is useful! gonna find time and do the mod as per the video then gonna improve it with the eductor.
  8. I guess everyone knows which direction I am heading.... Btw, where can I get the eductor here in SG? Getting this from Fish Street takes ages...
  9. Gosh, a wild idea just came up to my mind after watching this video! I may still be able to use back my TLF after all.
  10. Guys, look what I found on YouTube! Something new which I haven't seen before. Do you all think this will work? http://youtu.be/SsNDrSfOXK8
  11. Thanks bro. If I am not wrong, that video shows an addition of a plastic mesh to the TLF FR. I added that already.... still the same. Maybe there are other solutions out there. Let me do some more research
  12. Bro you are right! Out of curiosity, I channel about 2000L flow into the TLF yesterday to give it a try. I reduced my biopellet into just 1cm height and gave it a good stir. It did tumble barely but within 1 hour, all biopellet clump together again It seems like these biopellet that already being used for some time has a sticky layer on them making them clump easily.
  13. Anyone selling the above, kindly contact me with pricing and condition. sms: 9one88995one Thanks
  14. Hi everyone. Thanks for helping me out. Does anyone know which FR is similar in size to the TLF? My sump is small. Don't really have much choices
  15. bro, I agree with you too. It is kinda modified to accommodate the use with biopellet. Is Enductor a brand? Where can I find this... thanks!
  16. pardon my ignorance, what's a bio pellet reactor? I thought my TLF is already one.... hehe I clean up just last week but didnt clean the sponge
  17. Anyone using TLF FR with Biopellets? The biopellets in the FR will clump and stick together every couple of months and it makes the biopellets inefficient. Have reduced the amount of biopellets down to only 3cm height but still clumping occurs. My FR is modified with the add-on mesh for biopellets... Any idea why is this so? Any other FR don't have this issue? thanks in advance
  18. Got the chance to view the tank in person yesterday. Managed to get poisoned by bro evo on Razor after the visit after seeing the nice colours on his corals. Looks like I have another shopping place in wdls now
  19. I recall Madpetz carries this product where u can plug one end to wall plug and the other to our tank's water. To direct any current away into the earth terminal... can try asking if they still sells it. Best to find the root of the problem first.
  20. I 2nd PAR38 type.... I used that for my IQ5 in the past and it really brings out the colours of my 'simple' corals.... saw growth on them too. Have fun!
  21. off topic a little..... are those Scandyna the wireless version?
  22. Nice Scandyna!! Another SK reefer? Good to know that..... can exchange frags in future Btw what brand of distilled water is that? I can't see the labels clearly. Thanks
  23. Nice! I have a similar tank size like the ADA 60-p and is using Pharos LED too. Enjoy your tank! I'm sure this is going to be very exciting
  24. I think the Hailea HS-28A is good enough but if you have more $ to spend, get the Artica ones
  25. There are not the same? Gosh I have that wrong impression since day 1! Thanks for clearing this up Btw how much can you get for $7?
