  5. Ur MH how many watts? Using what bulb?
  6. Theres no such thing as keeping costs low lah for a 4 footer bro, lightings alone for T5s are 54watts each tube. Main thing thats gonna suck electricity is the chiller, ur CL650 wont be able to do the job well. Current wave makers and return pimps ur're using will have to be upgraded to stronger ones or u'll get lots of dead spots around the tank n the list just goes on. In short, ur CEO wont be impressed bout the additional bills and money needed for upgrading. Anyway up to u, one moment u say wanna save electricity next moment u wanna upgrade i cant keep up with u liao haha. Have fun bro need help call mua~
  7. No they dont, the CO2 gas is to melt the calcium media inside the CR(calcium reactors) which provides the calcium needed by corals to grow
  8. I help bro skyline answer ur question cos he busy working shifts. Yes the overflow box is built outside the tank behind with pipings flowing down to the sump. This design is better than internal type cos u will have more space to do scaping plus the flow of wavemakers will be better all around. The price is really cheap for a tankset this well built. Give him a call arrange viewing lor no harm what ...
  9. It looks brown in the pic but in realtime the red is much more well ... red lol
  10. 2. Purple Gonia selling way below market value $15 - Its not extending much in my tank cos wave too strong plus MH lights, bottom parts recided as u can see from pics which is common for gonias under captive. Call Terence 97373800 to deal, staying in Woodlands. (Can view b4 buying)
  11. 1. 'Heart shaped' Flourescent pink with green patches Oxinopora (dunno if spelling correct not) selling $60 - Has mouths and requires occassional target feeding just like pratas.
  12. 2nd pic, babyblue tipped staghorn with white polyps plus a red colony behind which i cant tell whether milli or acro.
  13. Lastnite chiong Iwarna Walt Smith n Indo sps shipment til 3am but got some gems ... first pic red milli with blue tips(lousy cam cant captures colours).
  14. If my lobang is from them then theres no need to hide the brand right? lol
  15. Heres a pic of the skimmer in action i'm recommending u guys, i want to make it clear i'm not distributing this brand of skimmers or trying to make a quick buck out of anyone thats why i'm not gonna give the brand name or model in here. I have been monitoring the performance n cost factor of this skimmer for a couple of mths already and all i can say is no horse run! Interested just pm me n i'll pass u the contacts n u go get it yourself.
  16. MH on 2hrs might as well dont on?!? T5 u gonna need 6 to cover the area properly, which is easy to get as so many ppl decomming n selling their DE T5 sets. Get the 36watts ones with ATI tubes. Can get 2 pairs then DIY the 3rd pair. Moonlight the set i bot has 10 LED bulbs running on 10 watts only, $18. Got smaller set for ur tank size so its even cheaper. Water proof somemore can put anywhere in the tank u want or even externally. Skimmer i wanted to recommend u not only takes up less space it runs on 1 pump at 22 watts only n performance equals a Deltec but only 1/4 the price of 1. If u really dont want to keep sensitive type of sps liao all the more theres no pt running the MH anymore bro. Think about it lah ... extra heat from MH = more work for chiller no matter how many hrs u lessen for the MH operation. Bulb somemore expensive u havent change yet u dunno the heartpain.
  17. 1) From the height and overall scaping of ur tank theres no need to sell ur sps since u place most of them at the very top. Just switch from ur MH to full T5. Ur bill should cut down to about $50 from that alone. 2) Skimmer i told u when u first bot liao the drawbacks of needing a high wattage pump to run becketts. Skimmer i suggest sell n buy a good skimmer that doesnt require strong pump. What type of skimmer to change to dont worry Uncle Soul help u choose cheap, efficient n low consumption one. 3) FR can just T-off from chiller pump or return pump u save another 10 watts. 4) CR can still use as most dont consume much electricity. 5) Chiller can also try running 1 degree higher shouldnt effect the corals much.
  18. , racist joke but it sure is funny.
  19. Yah its already premixed however by adding extra media 'W' in the dissolving rate is increased so that the CR works better at keeping PH/KH stable in theory. CO2 usage would lessen too since W dissolves faster. Heres info from the Deltec website in USA where some customers asked Deltec bout media W. http://www.theaquariumsolution.com/?q=node/411
  20. Rowalith C+ must be mixed with Rowalith W, i am currently using these media in my CR. Its good but expensive in the long run cos u need to buy C+ & W whereas other types u dont need to. Goto the reefdepot website and u can checkout the pricing. For me i am using it cos the CR i bot had new media just filled already. Feedback on this product is that it requires a CR tall enuf in design so u dont get milky effluet clouding ur tank. U will also need to wash the media thoroughly b4 filling the CR. Coralin algae growth is one of the fastest though .... I recommend this > http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_viewItem~idProduct~KL3511.html , but i dont think its available in SG. I plan to order it for my next media change. The ARM one is good too, but if u intend to use the Rowalith then just go buy media W n mix lor. Ur CR is a little short though bro ...
  21. First things first ... do u understand the needs for SPS corals since u are eyeing a setup of livestock similar to AM's display tank? Its not just about having good equipment, u need to learn about the bio n complex chemical balance needed to sustain a home reef, expecially for SPS corals. I'm not trying to pour a wet blanket over u bro but over the years of reefing i have always encountered so many ppl who spend lots on a nice setup plus equipment but in the end giving up the hobby cos they could not achieve the desired results nor did they forsee the costs in sustaining one. U only have to look at the number of decoms in the 'Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop' section. Getting advice from Steve of cos is good but he cant be there for ya 24/7 nor can he be 100% right bout everything. No reefers will tell u they know everything about reefing cos its always an ongoing process. I cut the crap short, go do more readups on SPS corals n their needs. Then only should u decide on what equipment u need, what u doing now is ppl tell u change what u change what ... but why need to change u dunno. How it will effect the SPS corals u also dunno .... get my drift? I would start by learning about the chemical balance much needed in reefs if i were u, its the number 1 factor on a successful reef at home be it for sps or lps corals. I can provide u with the links to the various info u need if u r interested, no strings attached just pm me.
