got more zoos this morning, they beginning to open. Rare colours again hehe Pic 1 Intense orange, its so luminous my d.cam cant bring out the colour fully.
-
u not only get clean surface sand the side views also no unsightly hidden algae growth in between the sand btw ....
-
aiyah then sprinkle lesser at the walls of the tank lor cant see liao wat, dont need 3 tubs lah, 4 footer at most use 2 tubs, about $90 each. Then u dont need to worry about algae during recycling as well as no need to spend more on FR dispensor.

Heres a trick my friend taught me when setting up new tank, pour first grade of sand in and spread evenly then 2nd grade then sprinkle rowaphos on top evenly then cover with remaining grades of sand. My friend's 5 footer have never had any algae growth since day 1 .....

try lower starting bid lah bro, where got ppl put things up for auction start at high price ...

I think ur tank got parasite and fungal outbreak. Careful bro~
-
ok i think ur lighting need some improvements, If i'm not wrong ur blue tube is behind while white in front right? Swop the blue to the front so u get a more pleasing view at the front and also take away the focus of brown corals.

wah both must cost a bomb! Anyway nice setup keep it up~

Bare bottom is good idea but make sure zero mantis shrimps in the LR, they will create rock dust which is unsightly. Cos i take into acct u'd be getting more LR in addition to those u transfering. Also make sure the underside of the tank's glass bottom u dont use white styrofoam, very ugly unless ur glass is tinted black.

So far never come across any bro, i dont think those species are available on local waters. The luminous green one i found i never even see anymore of them. Lots of moon/brain/leather/cauliflower/algae plants/sps/hammers/anemones/plates/zoos/mushrooms so far . I usually only have 30-40 mins during low tide in the morning to roam ard and pick cos boat come bring me home, no time to explore more plus no hand LOL usually get 3-5 corals i have to stop cos gotta worry how to bring home in time.

Just make sure theres sufficient space to work with inside the sump cabinet. Since u using sliding doors that means u cant make any racks on the doors to store misc stuff. Sump tank not exactly pretty sight so i dont think u need spot lights in there lah, flourescent tube can liao so bright enuff to see everything as well as serve refugarium purpose if growing algae plants or harvesting stuff. If the skimmer is the highlight u wanna show then try to mount it outside the tank with a custom made stand lor. What u must make absolutely sure is a failsafe powerfailure sump overflow system. Some ppl use check valves to brk syphon some use H20 lvl sensors(useless in powerfailures unless u got APS hooked up) . Do some research on this, generally good tank makers come with some sort of anti-sump overflow system. Lastly, u r having quite a big tank in the office so changing water might be a problem, extra plumbing from a water source to ur tank thats hidden would be good if possible. kk i dont talk so much liao wait u say me kpo hehe ..... have fun bro~

U guys wont believe what i saw yesterday morning while picking the 3 gems i posted earlier, i came across an entire colony of about 15 plates on the sandbed. Some bigger than 2 palmsize! I chose the odd looking one of the bunch in the end. Couldnt take more lah, packing them has always been a problem. My house run out of transparent bags for packing liaoz hahaha, maybe go get a whole packet soon lah. I'll post the pic of the plate later ..... to be continued~

Yup i just found out its not a monti yesterday b4 u posted also, heres some info about it http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Di....cfm?pCatId=521 The squirel fish so far is a friendly fella, sometimes chase away my purple flame while feeding but so far so good reef safe. Maybe get rid of it when its bigger lor. My tank only got 2 fishes i dowanna remove him later not only purple flame lonely i oso lonely wahahhaha! The island i work at is a restricted place, not open to public. Its guarded by the police coast guards daily.

pic of the monti, this fella is huge i'll need to glue it to a huge rock near the wavemaker and lights

Anyway got 3 more gems from the shore this morning after finishing work, a palm sized orange(i think) plate, a colony of super beautiful 'Y' shaped hammers (lime green/pink tipped) and a monti plate (I think). I will have to stop collecting corals for now, need to start epoxying the corals properly as i'm running out of space and ideas to place the corals. *Haiz* Pic of hammer yet to fully open

Lets just say its one of the islands near Sentosa lah .... got more corals today. But i very heart pain, was trying to trim the stem of the sps to fit a hole, secully dropped the bugger and it broke into 3 now look like shit! *haiz*

Pardon me for saying this but that threadwheel dont look too kind to zooplankton & micro organisms needed by corals. It will create very fine bubbles thats for sure ...
