  1. adjust foam level higher = wet skimmate adjust foam level lower = dry skimmate There should be a knob somewhere to adjust foam level, bro jervis used to own an AM skimmer maybe u can check with him on how to adjust.
  2. This skimmate is from wet setting. 11/2 days worth of collection.
  3. Heres some help, i'm using 2011 but the setting should be the same. Theres 2 settings u can use one is for wet skimmate one is for dry. I have marked it in the pic for u.
  4. set to wet skimmate bro ... better water clarity u will get and modify the skimmate cup to connect to a waste collector. (drill a hole below collector cup and connect a nipple then plug hose to it. The other end either put into a small water bottle or buy a waste collector)
  5. wah nice colourful and exotic fishes u got keep the pics comin'
  6. i'm gonna need another wave maker just behind the sps-es to keep them clean.

  11. Sorry me post here for ya to see, this is wat i wanna get. Dunno how to post pics in pm hehe. Dunno need Co2 to help it react or not leh ..
  12. box looks nicer thats all, both works the same in theory.
  13. Tap water has silicate content that ur phosphate testing kit doesnt test, rowaphos is harmless to fishes and inverts so ur cucumber wont die eating it. My fish occasionally eats the rowa accidently none has died.
  14. Most ppl would use tap water to wash the new sand then placing into the tank during the initial setup causing nutrients to be in the sand. There isnt much u can do now except increase flow at the areas effected or try wat i suggested which is burying rowaphos bits here and there to minimise growth and spread. The correct way to cure/clean the sand during setup is to use DI or RO water instead of direct tap water.
  15. thats cos the phosphates and silicates are trapped within the sand, u can get zero reading but still have algae growth in the sand unless u had treated the sand first during the initial setting up.
  16. btw i came across this lastweek but had to put it back as i didnt have proper gear to bring it home ... Acropora Coral, Green it was the size of a football so nice haiz~
  17. Yah lots of fishes at my workplace of cos but fish inside tank already cannot catch dont say open sea LOL .. i plan to make some kind of fish trap soon lah see wat i can catch.

  19. Ppl who running setup with MH lagi jialat man in terms of wattage ... also imagine the additives needed monthly
  20. Thats why u see a lot of ppl owning 4 to 6 footers quiting the hobby every few days mah ... cost and time consuming hobby if u dont calculate all the variables b4 proceeding to start up a sizeable setup.
  21. hmmm ... ur skimmer running on dry skimmate or wet?
  22. Push part of ur sand aside sprinkle some rowaphos and spread it out evenly then cover with the sand or coral chip powder u use. This is how i keep my sandbed clean from brown unsightly algae.
  23. Hmmm No3 pretty high for a low bioloaded tank like urs, tried changing some water yet?
