your return pump(or ball valve attached to it) determines the water level of ur sump, it wont be too low as u gotta maintain a certain level for ur skimmer thus very little splashing sound caused at the bio balls chamber. Also ur sump is inside tank cabinet, cant hear much one lah when closed.

Yah i starting to get irritated with my cleaner shrimps too, think my upcoming upgrade no more shrimps for me. They dont help clean fishes much anyway after the constant feeding they get from stealing food from others.

Ok my opinion on the overflow box, point of overflow at the top (higher than normal which is fine), flushing system is a good idea however due to the overflow being right at the top not much dirt can be cleared when flushing. Bro Jervis if u have time go take a look at Jinreh's display tank, they have an overflow slot create just above sandbed level hidden behind nicely apart from the one at the top.

Omega 99 is actually a high temp. resistant industrial grease. It does not stop rust fyi, a tub of it costs hundreds. You cannot get this from a DIY shop. It will however offer a slight protective coat when smeared on the surface of metal thats all. The best way to prevent rust is to buy anti-rust surface prep. paint which most DIY shops carry. Hope this helps~

Mix food with a few drops of garlic guard daily for the PBT. Is anything chasing the PBT around in the tank? They get stressed easily when chased around and their immune system suffers.

Thrive means they start growing and spreading colours getting more vibrant. Corals that are just surviving or rather maintaining dont open fully nor grow much. Anyway from the looks of it u seem to be an old timer reefer so u know what works what doesnt already lah. T5s are good in my opinion if they are strong and sufficient enuf to spread the light evenly to the whole tank. They also create lesser heat to the water compared to MH.

Excuse me the bigger the wattage means the more flow u can allow into the UV means u treat more gallons of water per hr means ur tank gets treatment faster. If u have an undersized UV the germs/bacteria/diseases will likely multiply faster than the undersized UV can cope therefore defeats the purpose of running a UV. I didnt say UV treats better in the night, i said Ich attacks more at night meaning they will free float more during the night than day thats why i suggested turning on only in the night. Turning on UV 24/7 will kill off a lot of the beneficiery bacteria in the long run. Anyway no pun intended i just share watever i know with fellow reefers. Cheers~

Depends how big ur tank is, UV is just like skimmer. The more oversize u buy the better. UV turn on at night more often than day cos ich loves attacking fishes in the night from my observation.

Really? I tot these are so called green nuisance anemone, got 3 of them and they havent spread in any way. Will monitor and pluck them off if they start spreading. Thanks for the tip mate cheers~
