Heres more updated pics on my setup which i worked on during the first few days during CNY whenever i had time. Rockscaping was a backbreaking and frustrating ordeal for me as the tank was tall and i had decided to go sandless thus stacking the rocks in a stable position was difficult. I love the center piece rock i picked up from my work place island. Good for placing SPS. More rocks will be transfered from my current tank once the water paremeters for this new setup is stable enuf.

Hi everyone and Happy CNY. Well its been a long and costly 3 yrs reefing for me with mixed results. My previous setup crashed 3 times to be frank over the years but everytime i would learn from mistakes plus good advice from fellow reefers helped bring me back on track. A few weeks back i aquired a bigger setup from a fellow reefer who had to give up the hobby due to moving of house. Heres sime pics of my new setup which i am slowly sourcing and stocking up on the right equipment which semi-cycling the tank.

For a tank ur size u dont need a CR to be frank, just weekly dosing will do. Unless u totally go SPS then u need CR as LPS dont take in much calcium but more to trace elements. Denitrator theres many types in the market now with the current trend pointing to the half sulphur half calcium media type being most economical. Mangroves are the cheapest and most natural way to remove nitrates and excess nutrients from the water but u need space & light for them to grow. I just converted my Korallin CR into the 50/50 sulphur/calcium denitrator. Check my new thread for details and pics. Have fun bro~

Congrats bro on a nice setup! Wah ur rockscape looks like the gladiator arena sia ... bobehchow! Probably will need some flow from ur wavemakers to keep the arena area clean from debris accumulation overtime. Whats the water paremeters?

Your water paremeters missing out on Salinity, Phosphate & KH. If u intend to keep live corals whichever type they maybe u're gonna need a chiller first b4 anything else. And please hor get a chiller with the capacity to handle ur 4 footer. Have to take into consideration how big ur sump tank is also b4 u get the chiller. Need to calculate how much water in ur tank use this link > http://www.sgreefclub.com/srcconverter.htm As for the scaping in my opinion theres too many tonga branches, looks very messy the scaping. As for CR, if u not keeping SPS forget about it just use dosing method good enuf. Denitrator if budget is a problem just get some mangroves and plant in sump(about 10 stalks with first stage leaves already grown). If budget no problemo then get a korallin or deltec. Testkits go get Salifert ones lah more accurate cos they measure below 20ppm.

Hmmm 6 line costs about 6 bucks so 12 lines a bit rare maybe the price is justified?

what u intend to keep? Just fishes or LPS plus fishes? I have 2 tanks to sell off cheaply. One is a 2.5 feet acrilic curved tank with cabinet and another is a 3 feet with built in overflow with pipings plus pump, doesnt require a sump buts glass only 8mm no stand or cabinet. The 3 ft comes with top cover with single T5. SMS me at 97373800 Terence if interested letting go dirt cheap.

Orp controller is to monitor oxygen levels in the water if i'm not wrong. Any drop in the oxygen level normally indicates something bad going to happen or is happening. Its normally used together with an ozonizer. The AM denitrator is a good product to get for controlling your nitrate levels but u need to tune the output properly which should be easy since bro Hippo's set comes with dosing pump. produces almost perfect water for changing water lah nothing much to review about cos cannot compare to those Deltec or Kent marine RO type with built in TDS meter. Chinese say 1 cent u get 1 cent product. Its a little slow also without booster pump.

Sorry for the late reply i was working niteshift, the probe i have doesnt have a tip cover and the small bulb is exposed. When i immerse the probe any lower than the tip the readings drop to 4+- ... when just at the tip i can get a reading of 7.38. I think the probe gone case liao right? I live at Blk 719, issit near u bro? U using weipro too? If possible i bring my probe over and test it out on your controller see if readings close or not.

bro question, what u doing to keep nitrates in check har? I dont see u using any denitrator. Change water weekly n light feeding method?

Hi guys i bot a weipro ph controller from a fellow reefer and have a question about the probe. Is the tip supposed to just touch the water? Cos when i dip it lower the PH drops a lot. The seller has zero aftersales mindset so i cant get any info from him. Any input would be grately appreciated. Thanks~ And stop starring at my avatar hehe

Hi guys just bought over a fellow reefers PH controller n cr unit but i'm having problems setting it up as theres no instruction manuals for the controller and CR. Is the PH probe supposed to have the tip touch the water only? Cos it seems when i immerse it deeper into the water the PH reading drops a lot.
