I am in the mist of transfering my current tank contents to my new tank so i cant add more livestock til a certain period of time. Thanks for the offer bro ... maybe a few weeks more lah then u wanna donate corals i dont mind hehe. But i likely going towards SPS corals liao so certain corals i cannot keep anymore as SPS corals need ultra high flowrate which most LPS cannot stand. Sigh ... the more i study about keeping SPS the more i think of turning back to LPS. But my heart keeps saying go for it ..... U just need to do a search in this forum u'll see how many SPS reefers gave up after only a few months.

CR Pros > - One less thing to dose = more time to meddle with other things lol - Cheaper in the long run for tank setups which struggle to maintain calcium levels. - Look like pro like that ma cabinet got extra device lol Cons > - Co2 bottle have to top up once a while - Extra electricity consumption from then CR pump, Co2 solenoid valve & PH controller unit - Need to refill calcium media in CR every few mths - Takes up space in cabinet or beside tank - Extra heat generated meaning chiller will work harder = more electricity consumption too I not professional lah but i do my homework on most equipment for reefing so just giving humble opinion.

For target feeding use mysis shrimp or market prawn cut into small pc. Cut a container with some holes and cover over the coral when target feeding to prevent fish or shrimp(if u keep any) for snatching the food from the coral. WHen covering coral make sure the container not touching the coral in any way hor. Dont target feed too much just once a week enuf liao. Remember .. small piece can liao. After brains or prata eat they bloat until 1/4 to 1/2 times more they're size so make sure theres enuf space between them and other corals or kerna sting. If same species then no problem can put close together. This rule applies to most other coral species too. Btw lobos need target feeding once in a while too.

Sorry bro forgot to answer ur questions. Yes the footprint about 15cm. Approx. 1.2kg of sulphur beads was used. And from what i can see now the bubbles trapped inside the denitrator r getting lesser and lesser by day which means the bacteria is starting to colonize inside and eat off the oxygen as intended. NO3 still remains at 20ppm with no livestock introduced so far.

Its harmful to SPS i believe as the microbubbles stick to the extended polyps. Plus it makes the main tank look cloudy hehe

Yah the bubbles will go away when i add more water to raise the water lvl , tank cycling stage so more water aggitation plus oxygen is good i guess.

So when can we go SPS shopping together? 1 more week the water should be ready liao ... hiak hiak hiak

Pic of my conversion of the Korallin C-1501 CR into a S-1501 Bio-Denitrator. Conversion was really simple, just disabled the CO2 inlet and poured 50% sulphur beads 50% ARM calcium media with a sponge in between them. Its currently in the run in stage so i cant give u guys and results yet. Just got it running an hr ago. Will posts results a week or so from now.

Heres a pic of my sump now running on macro skimmer, was FOC with the tank so running it til my new skimmer from the states comes in. My old beckett was too tall to go into the cabinet sadly so i had to get a new skimmer. The macro does its job without fuss i should say, not bad for a Taiwan skimmer.

Heres more updated pics on my setup which i worked on during the first few days during CNY whenever i had time. Rockscaping was a backbreaking and frustrating ordeal for me as the tank was tall and i had decided to go sandless thus stacking the rocks in a stable position was difficult. I love the center piece rock i picked up from my work place island. Good for placing SPS. More rocks will be transfered from my current tank once the water paremeters for this new setup is stable enuf.
