The few SPS colonies i have aquired so far are doing well except an Acro frag i got which has totally turned brown. The rest are having a steady growth at the tips, some browning at the base due to light being unable to reach the area ... cant be helped i guess. I think getting single frags for sps is better than getting a whole colony since in the wild they grow according to the direction of natural light which may not suit the direction of our light in our tanks due to placement constrants.

Bought a paired Leopard wrasse a few days back but sadly the female got stressed n died ... male is doing well so far though swimming about looking for food on the rocks. Wont eat anything i feed yet.

Some updates, added a mangrove/DSB refugium to the setup. Mangroves growing taller n taller ... had to break off some leafs to stop their growth. The area is also where i directed most of my monitor meters n CR PH controller plus AquaMedic light computer.

Thanks for the answers, personally i've been successful in helping 2 of my very damaged fungi plates recover recently but never had experience with pratas b4(thats why i asked hehe). What i did was to place them at an area with higher flow n less light plus monitor closely for any sand or debris landing on the exposed skelly. Had to use a needle to scrape off dead tissue plus sand particles a few times and most importantly keep phosphates at zero. I saw a healthy steady recovery after 2 weeks of playing doctor. 3 holes the size of 5 cents btw was the damage. Sometimes i see nice pratas at LFS shops but with some bare skellies sticking out with algae growth so didnt know if it was possible to recover so dare not buy.

question, if algae grows on the bare skeleton can still nurse back to health? Or the algae covered area no cure?

Raising the MH higher should create a broader spectrum, theres additional level that can be added to raise the plastic brackets as shown in the pics.

4ft u need at least 2 MH lah bro to be frank, also dependant on what type of corals u keeping. SPS sure not enuf. Hope this helps

Sorry if i sounded offensive but my advice to u is next time u wanna buy things ask all the info first b4 u ask seller to reserve. U waste ppl's chances of selling an item when u reserve and aimai aimai. I smsed u this afternoon whether u still wanted it u didnt bother to reply. I continued rejecting other ppl's request to sell it to them only to come home and see u ask can lower price and how old is it. I mean .. come on lah u could have asked all this before i reserved it for u!
