  1. For a start, try removing the scum off the surface of the water in your refugium. The water looks almost stagnant in your sump/fuge... what return pump are you using? Care to share with us a pic of your entire setup?
  2. 6hrs for your 400w would be the bare minimum. You could start out at 6 hours and see how your sps colour up. I believe AT keeps his on for at least 7 to 8 hrs, if not a little longer.
  3. Trying really hard to get the purple cap to colour up again...
  4. tdmrider, Curious, what do you mean by "test water"? Sunburst Anthias is a beautiful and delicate species, and as with any live stock we add to our tanks, we should be prepared to provide the very best for it. It's a commitment that all who venture into this hobby should make. Is your tank system (i.e. skimmer, etc.) capable of handling the heavy feeding requirements of anthias and corresponding heavy bio-load? Dan
  5. My wife and I were in Bali almost 2 years ago, around this time of the year. Surprisingly, the water was not as cold as we had expected... about 27-28C. Then again, our max depth was only about 20m. We stayed on Nusa Lembongan, about a 45 minute boat ride from the main island. We went diving and snorkelling in between Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. Some good diving and snorkelling spots there. Depending on the dive location, up-currents and thermoclines, the water temp could potentially drop into the low 20's. That's what I've read, but did not experience it personally. Have a great time in Bali!
  6. What live stock do you keep? Depending on your LS, the "useful life" of your T5s could potentially be much longer than 6 months. One of my T5 retrofits has been running approx. 11 hours/day for almost 8 months and is still going strong.
  7. Is your cleaner wrasse not getting busy with the ich?
  8. I figure the AT is probably larger than the AB tang... are they getting along fine?
  9. Awesome stuff! Is the atlantic blue tang the one and only fish you've added so far? Besides grazing on algae, do you intend to provide it with other food? Algae itself may not be sufficient to keep it plump and healthy over the longer term.
  10. ... resistance is futile, you will be assimilated. Sounds and looks like you're already assimilated. Looking good!
  11. Rich, sweet tank and specimens! Thanks for sharing. The pink w/ green polyps you saved from the LFS shows much promise. The blue/purple polyp digi is nice too. In fact, they're all nice! Hmmm... we should figure out a way to trade corals half way around the globe. Any ideas? Danano
  12. SRC reefers are a tough lot to please... ... and yes, scrolling left/right is a bug that AT's now looking into.
  13. How long have you had your 2ft tank?
  14. Nice pics. What camera do you use and what settings?
  15. Thanks planetg. Do you get thick 'sludge' build up in the upper chamber? Nice dark skimmate. Can you adjust it to produce drier skimmate?
  16. tagging along... let's see some pics of your H&S kopi-o fellas.
  17. ... and I have my eyes set on strobes for my A80 as well! Maybe it'll appear under the Christmas tree at the end of the year!
  18. Looking sweet! Nice scaping as well! At what levels are you able to maintain your Ca and Alk at with manual dosing? I'm sure you'll get explosive growth with a CR... Btw, I picked up the A80 plus u/w housing a few months back. Excellent 4mp camera for the price... great value for money. Worked great when in Manado last week. Will post some pics in the scuba forum soon.
