  1. Frank, another warm welcome to SRC! I too use ATI T5s and am very pleased with it. 8x 54w (5x Aquablue Special and 3x Blue Plus) light up my 110 gallon (416 ltr) sps dominated tank. I would love to see more German sps tanks that use T5s. Have you got links to such tanks that you can share with us? Posting pictures here would be great as well. Dan
  2. Looking good Riot! The sps should do well under 400w, even on the "sandbed". You mentioned going BB. Do you have any substrate at all?
  3. Decentkid, how are your sps doing under 8x 54w? Are you happy with the results?
  4. Thanks tineng My SPS deserve only the best! And I don't even dare to imagine the $$$ spent.
  5. Depending on lighting conditions and spectrum, it could turn out to be superman monti. The rainbow could morph into superman and vice versa...
  6. Take the pair for $8. Pls PM me if interested.
  7. It's not that rare. I'm already envisioning one in my tank. Seriously, that is one sweet specimen! Going by the scales and branches/growth, looks like a pink milli-staghorn hybrid.
  8. Very nice! Love the rockscape and mix of LPS, SPS and softies. And of course the fish too!
  9. And it's turned to GOLD with the Scarab touch! Very well done bro! I am in awe at the colours. Great pics too!
  10. DB, how much light are you giving your acan? Is it on the sand bed?
  11. It turned orange under lower light conditions. Other than that, the polyps were mainly green. You should be able to maintain you existing colours under medium to strong light.
  12. Well, when I first started keeping sps 2 years ago and got this specimen, I had no idea that it would turn out to be the one reefers at RC refer to as the rainbow monti. It has survived 2 tank transfers, although I did lose more than half of it after a bleaching episode. Other than that, I believe it to be fairly hardy. Growth rate appears moderate.
  13. Yup, and I only recently noticed the multi-coloured polyps. It used to be either all green or all orange, depending on lighting conditions - but never both at the same time. Base is always purple. After I first saw the rainbow monti on Reef Central, I suspected than the monti danae in my tank could be it as well. A bleaching episode 6 months ago didn't allow me to confirm the potential then and only recently have the colours returned... and it sure looks like it!
  14. Look what I found, and I've had this specimen all along... for over 2 years! Could this be it? Sure looks a lot like it!
  15. Very, very nice! Should look great in a few months once the corals grow out a little more. Nice colours too!
  16. Reminds me of AT's "mermaid" when he setup his tank. How about using this as your avatar?
  17. Return of Robe! Love the new setup! A great reef tank in the making... from one of our respected senior reefers.
  18. Well, Edmund, I think I can safely say that there are several reefers on the eAN order list for the specimen eagerly awaiting your next shipment, especially now that we know what it looks like. Ed, let me know if you need help with identifying corals next shipment, k? And Wei Leong, thanks for sharing the pics and helping out bro.
  19. No worries bro, could be my mistake too. I was zooming in on the reddish gems and maybe missed out on that one. Oh well, there's always next time! Maybe my eyes are getting weary from looking too closely at too many sps this past few weeks. Care to share with us the pic you took?
  20. Alan, what you and everyone else saw (and some bought) was a whitish-cream body thin branch acro with very tiny blue polyps. Yes, there were about half a dozen of those... but nothing like the one in the pic above.
  21. That is one sweet specimen bro! It's too bad those on the eAN list for the blue-polyp rosaria didn't even get to smell it... assuming this is indeed it.
  22. Nice specimen. Hmmm...looks like a blue-polyp rosaria. Have you got a full pic of the acro?
