  1. i think the sand storm is caused by your canister. try pointing the outlet in a different direction. hope that helps
  2. ooo alrite. will check it out 2moro
  3. haha chill. i think for now juz get some LR and let the tank run for a couple more weeks. LR is best if u can get him from reefers. check out the pasa malam section. another alternative is from shops or farms. but u will risk introducing unwanted living creatures into your tank.
  4. is your pump for the skimmer resting on the sand bed ? i suggest u elevate it. sand might get into the pump and into your skimmer. adding some LR will definately speed up the process of cycling
  5. i live in YCK. haha. is it a shop ? or in a industrial estate ?
  6. i dont think singapore waters are that polluted that those fishes cant survive. there are a variety of small gobies .. shrimps that u can find during low tides. i think the area of concern is the fishes cant find a suitable place to hide as there are very little reefs left in local waters. as bro thomas said realising them in st john island or any areas where there are reefs that the fishes can hide.
  7. haha i used to have some tangs. after that clown died i decided to go with smaller fishes for now. doing some upgrading dont wanna take any risk for now. sealife is located in the west rite ? i live in YCK. so i get my supplies from AM and fishes from the area and pasir ris. anyways thanks for all the suggestions ! really appreciate it
  8. the one i got was quite small, around 1 1/2 inches.
  9. yoz, anyone knoe where to find plywood ? wanna use it to cover up my sump and iron stand. and make a hood as well. best if they can cut to size if not its ok. if its convient to list down the price as well please do thanks
  10. haha no more tangs for me right now. abit scared of them lar. the few i used to have either terrorise my tank or give me sleepless nights. will stick to some more common and easy fishes for now. thanks for the suggestion bro. bt is in my wish list once i am ready for one
  11. bro i dont think they will eat fish lar. but they are crab and shrimp busters for sure. i think u will be more afriad of it crawling out of your tank that they eating up your fishes lol .
  12. yea i tried all kinds of food. seems like the only weed it likes is hair algae.. it went to heaven last sunday, juz before i went for my camp.
  13. yea the cheato chamber .. sorry slow fingers ... by the time i post.. there are already 2 replies before me
  14. bro wat about the lighting ? enough coming from the position of your existing light ?
  15. aRh ... sorry.. pardon me for my ingorance
  16. ya .. overflow system is the best lar ... but my tank is almost 6 years old man ... i tried DIYing an overflow ones but failed terribly. now using 2 pumps to pump water into and out of the sump. yes i knoe its risky and all but i do have some measures taken so no flood will happen
  17. i think u should get those plastic ones. i dunno watz it called but u can get it at popular or any store that sells stationery. they come in big sheets. there are "strips" of plastic in the middle to support the other 2 panels. they look like something i have drawn below. pardon me for my bad drawing skills. these kinda boards are a little tricky to cut though. i wont reco foam. i dun knoe wat kinda foam u are planning to use but the ones i have worked, when u move any moveable part little pieces of foam will fall. can be quite irritating. however if u really want to use foam, i the best one would be blue foam (dun knoe watz its actual name but it comes in blue) its pretty dense. chances of it breaking up i alot lower than the normal white ones u see. btw the suction cups will diffinately not stick to the foam. not sure about the plastic though hope this helps cheers
  18. woah bro your pipings ...... power. lol maybe u can get those foam or plastic back drops. those put in tank. i think most of them are used in planted tanks but i guess it will look better than exposed pipings and tubes. i think it will take up 1 or 2 inches of space though
  19. amazing stuff.. but since it floats ... we have to achore it down with smth rite ? looks very porous too gd for bacteria to grow in. btw very nice coraline algae growth, if they are real
