  6. hey i need some help, i juz got a high fin goby, those with the yellow head and brown bands on the body. got it eating mysis and brine shrimps on the first day upon introduction. for the next 2 days it keep changing holes and now i didnt see it for the last 48 hours even during feeding i suspect its in one of the holes between 2 of my LR (quite big cant see the fishes hiding in it).... is this common ?? as in the dish MIAing ...
  7. i am overfeeding my fishes now so i on mine 24/7. some bros here off their skimmer at night
  8. either your water is too low that air is able to get in it or the joints of your pipe are not tight? check whether a vortex is formed on the water surface of which the pump is in. if there is try to distrupt the water currents in that region so that a vortex doesnt form. hope this helps
  9. my water level is juz below the cup, giving me kopi now ... clean the cup every 2 weeks or so
  10. wa yea .. kinda .. but its better than underkill lolz.. i using it for my 3 ft with quite alot of fishes and 4 corals
  11. water level up to 1/3 of the funnel in my opinion will flood your collection cup in no time. it will take awhile for the skimmer to kick in. i am using the same model as yours. it will take around 2 days to kick in and before you see any bubbles. i am using a 2000L/hr atman pump btw. it also depends on the number of LS u have in your tank. hope this helps =)
  12. bro u got a pic of the setup ? and the location for collection ?
  13. haha green chromis gives alot of life to the tank
  14. bro jacobus, i only got one sand shifter, which is the signal goby, the other 4 are rainford, high fin goby and a goby with orange dots (dont know the name). my high fin i got it 4 days ago and feeding well but MIA liao.. didnt see it for 2 days might be hiding somewhere. the only agressive in my tank is a bicolour gamma which doesnt really disturn that signal goby ... my tank size is 3 by 1.5 by 1.5. sump tank is the same dimension. my main tank has around 1.5 inches of grade zero sand. bro Reefaholic, mine come out to the open to feed munch on sand, hides near a rock at night, my tank is pretty small so i dont think it has alot to munch on will keep flooding my tank with food until it fattens up
  15. yea bro jacobus, the one with 2 black dots on its fins. i only got one haha i read in one of the threads that they will become hostile if the two doesnt ge talong well... will try placing some food in the sand bed, no point placing them on the sand bed, i got another 2 gobies that will eat the food. the current in my tank is pretty strong as well =) bro Reefaholic wa six months ??!~ thats a very long time for just surviving by munching on sand. mine used to do that very often all round the tank infact. now it just stay at one area where the current will bring food down to the lower part of the tank. the sand on the other side of the tank is untouched ... it doesnt hide in its barrow anymore as well, it will just lay on the sand bed when the lights are out. i am using grade 0 sand btw.
  16. ya i flood my tank with food, it didnt really accept food for nearly 2 weeks, then it started eating, i have no doubt that it will regain the weight lost, however thats not the case. i am not really into the quarantine method, i think it will stress the fish even more than it already is making things worst. i think i will just continue flooding my tank with food. btw bro ambystoma82, that goby hasnt taken pellets yet, it will juz swallow it and it comes out from it gills ...
  17. it looks weak ... thats the part that is troubling me .. and i feed 2 ot 3 times a day for the last few days, flooding the tank with food. it doesnt look good
  18. the lighting u are using when taking the pictures kinda enhance the colours of your fishes, very very nice
  19. got this signal goby for 6 weeks now. it doesnt chase after its food but it will eat them when they float pass. its eating mysis and brine shrimps now, however its getting skinner still. anyone know how to fatten it ? thanks
  20. one thing i dont like about turbo snails is that they will leave tracks all over the place as they eat the algae. i think those magnetic scrubber will be better.
