Thanks, that answer my #2 question. What about #1 .. Any problem (or damage to the ls) if the tank is maintain in hyposaline 1.009 mode beyond the recommanded 6~8 weeks quarantine period? All the ls looks happy and healthy and continue eating since hyposaline started 3 weeks back.

My friend's tank had an outbreak of ich when he introduced a PBT into his tank. Since his is just a fowlr, he decided to hypo the main tank and managed to control the outbreak and all the LS survived. The tank is now into the 4th week of hyposaline and he plans to continue for another 4 weeks. Question: 1. Under hypo mode, all LS are happy and eating. Any reason why he cannot continue to maintain the tank in hypo 1.09 mode forever? Since it is just a fowlr setup. 2. He is thinking of giving up the PBT. If I take from him, what should I do? Since his is 1.09 and mine is ~1.22. Please advice. Thanks.
