was at LFS, i was told by them 50% grade 15 and 50% grade 1. they clam that this combination will be good for maintenance of DSB in future? is it true? btw, did you guys do maintenance on your DSB? if so, how long interval and how to?

Hi Reefers, I would like to know how to build an effective DSB? I understand that we need at least 4" and above of sand to consider deep. But, do we use different grades of sand and gradually build up to the depth or just one grade will do? Which grade is consider recommended for use? Do we lay anything like mesh between layers? Does DSB require maintenance? Please kindly advice. Cheers!

gosh, so impossible to keep sea horse one meh? sea horse in main tank, they have trouble to survive. main tank convert to sea horse tank, i dont like the idea of that. think the best way out would be the sea horse to make home in the sump tank then. bo pian.

since you have a sump running below the main tank, why not place your skimmer there too. putting it in the main tank looks unsightful.
