actually my idea is to have all 3 but would like to hear if a. or b. is redundant. would a 6100 be too much for my 4 footer? how shd i place the stream?

my new corner overflow 4' tank will be arriving and i intend to circulate water like this. pls take note that i will be creating 2 towers with an open space in the middle. i will be creating a mixed reef (50-60% SPS). it will be 2 1/2 feet deep and 2' high. a. 5000l/hr return via SCWD at the centre-back pointing 45 degress to the left and right. any other better suggestions? b. tunze stream 6010 (7000l/hr). how shd i hook this up and at which direction to avoid "shocking" my sps and stirring too much sand. c. 3600l/hr return via the top over to hidden pipes around the rocks. this is more for getting rid of dead spots. however, is this redundant? help greatly appreciated.

you shd have gone slow man..that's too much for a tank that has only cycled 6 weeks and did you buy all at one go? have you got your water parameters tested?

i feel that cathode tube is too bright. any comments

after reading this thread, i would like some conclusions. for toping up with approx 1.5 litres of water, is this appropriate. 1. Add 1/2 teaspoon of Reefez Kalkwasser to container 2. Add 2 teaspoons of Vinegar to container 3. Mix it and let it settle 4. 1 hr after lights out, start dripping. please advise.

dun think it's that fast. mine hatches after 48 hrs.

Stumble upon this happening looking DIY moonlight. Cathode Light instead of LEDs. DIY Moonlights Pls check it out and feel free to comment. Looks cheap and viable unless we're talking abt specific wavelength of the light.

check valves need regular maintenance as it may calcify or "get dirty" what jsoon meant earlier is a siphon break. just drill a little hole on your return line. is it over the top return (i.e. pipe runs from the back of tank) or in tank return (hidden in the overflow compartment)? if it's over the top, just drill the hole at the safety point. any water below that level will not be drained. thus it shd be high if it's in tank return, it's more tricky. i'm not sure about that. maybe someone else can comment.

Chiller and i hate all those wires all over the place. I also heard abt problems when it comes to cleaning up equipment. Please comment.

Will be installing 2x250W Iwasakis and 2 T5 54W Actinic Plus on my new tank. Would like to see some close-up pics of custom hoods or DIY setups. How do you guys wire and place the ballasts, capacitors, end caps, reflectors, etc.. Appreciate any help. Cheers.
